Purchased a 2nd hand cz550 .505 custom shop rifle about 4-6 weeks ago.
my issue is when opening the bolt, it seems to jump out of the raceway and bind sideways... almost like its been opened too far.
Only way to correct this is to force the bolt forward and try again... seems like there is way too much slop/play in the action... at a loss what to do, dropped it off too a gun smith see if he can work any magic but he seemed worried its no good...
iv take a photo to try and show whats happening... cant really find anything online relating to cz550s having bolts jam when opening, the rifle feeds and ejects cases fine just gets jammed once the bolt is about 25mm rewards...
my other cz550 safari has no way the amount of play and i actually cant even force it too jam...

Call Triple River—CZ custom shop.
i may email them, not sure what sort of warranty they have... me being in australia might be abit of a nightmare... ill see what my gun smith comes back with but he seemed to think the clearances were just too big in the receiver

Looks like some backyard mechanic had a go at trying to do something and was a bit over zealous.....

Contact the guys at AHR , maybe ? They did great work on many CZ 550 rifles which l have seen .

Can you find another bolt and try it?
I ran my 458 bolt in it there was an improvement for sure, the bolt body diameter was the same, how ever...

think the Mark's u see are just wear Mark's... rather then dremal or something

the issue with a new bolt is head space and the fact they are like $700aud plus gun smithing to make it accept the
.505 ... then if the head space is wrong I'm stuffed... really goes down the rabbit hole... im not sure what to do really

maybe tha makers have moved their factory to the Khyber pass gun manufacturing precinct.
that bolt almost looks like it has been tightened in a vice up front.
the whole thing is an indictment of its manufacturer.
bruce.

looks worse in the photo then in real life... the gun as a whole is actually pretty reasonable...as i said its not new.
unsure what the solution is at this point its at the gun smiths.

Have you contacted who you bought the rifle from?? Maybe he knows what's wrong, or maybe that is why he sold the rifle in the first place.

Para45, I think the latter of the two is accurate. Unfortunately.

Unfortunately, yes. More than likely sold at that price for exactly that reason. I'm with the gunsmith who looked at it. The front 1-2" of that bolt looks "mugly"! Maybe try to sell with full discloser to buyer. Any loss, chalk off to education. Buy a low mileage, CRF, Win 70 with known pedigree.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
