Our safari with Rudolf Graupner at Molopo Kalahari Safaris was last September. Here we are less than a year later and I just received some progress pictures from my Taxidermist. Both my springbok rug and my gemsbok tail fly swatter are complete and ready for pickup.

He will be starting on my gemsbok and my dads impala next as he just got the capes back from The tannery. Will keep this updated as work is completed

What is the rug backed with?

Looks like rug work from Debbie Wilkerson in Palestine, Tx. If so it’s quality stuff.

Pretty sure my Taxi said the lady was out of San Antonio but the work is top notch for sure.

That’s the biggest damn tail I ever saw on a springbok! Lol
Rug looks great!

Haha it does look like that at first glance!

Seavas I like it much better than the felt as well I was originally just expecting a flat hide back and when it came back from the tannery there were a few holes and cuts from the skinners in Africa. He would not let it out of his shop like that and insisted on sending it to his “rug lady”,

Glad he did cause I could not be happier

Well forms for my gemsbok and my dads impala are in route to the taxidermist. We picked them out earlier this week and looked over the capes back from the tannery. Overall me and the taxidermist are very pleased with the hides

Here's hoping you picked out a Jetz 140 degree gemsbok pose :)

It’s always nice to see the memories and to eventually get them home

Well mine sitting at SCS in Africa are mostly plane old euro mounts. Nothing nice like that gemsbok head.
I do have a zebra rug done like your impala and it has worked out excellent! It doesn’t catch dog hair nor dust since it has no exposed felt. Excellent choice IMO!

Nice pick !!! (y)
