Terms I am tired of hearing

in the states the term "woke" is an expression that means essentially that a more progressive thinking person understands something that the common folk are missing.
Microagression is a term that describes the idea that everything that you say could be offensive even though you meant no offense by the statement.
An example would be Central Americans being offered by the concept of a Taco meal being promoted by a group that wasn't Spanish speaking, or someone being offended by a decoration made from a cotton plant because their ancestors had to pick cotton...in other words being offended by seemingly insignificant things.
And I am sure that I have micro aggressed someone by these definitions...

Thanks ...so basically wankers who are offended by anything and everything

Here is a perfect example...

"Wanker is a microaggression that is rooted in toxic masculinity and if you were more woke you would know that"

See how completely idiotic it is.

Definitely a candidate for sensitivity training. :E Dancing::E Happy:

There is one term i will never get tired of hearing though

"Bob is dead"

;)

Maybe he was smoked, or DRT, perhaps the CNS was disturbed.
Who cares! :A Banana::A Banana::A Banana:

:(

Hey while we are at it......... IRS- “Your quarterly estimate is $$$$$$$$$$$$$.”

yes that is how the USA works now

Yes, if Peter Capstick or Robert Ruark were in their 20's and living in America, their books would have to be edited to fit the new "woke" attitudes.

For example, having Harry Selby call Ruark "Old Boy" would never do. First, it's obviously discriminatory based on the author's perceived age. Second, how dare Selby assume Ruark's gender? Maybe Ruark is gender fluid!

See what a complete disaster the liberal culture has become!?

On the other hand, I doubt Selby would have said, "I say, Old Boy, what say you take your Creedmore and harvest Mr. Spots while you have the chance? Upon hitting the leopard, who was DRT, Selby exclaimed, "Good show, Old Boy! You really smoked him!" Yes, yes I did, replied Ruark. I smacked him right in the boiler room! I have to admit, though, I hit him a bit far back." "Never the mind", stated Selby, "your tactical bullet selection clearly cuts meat. Now let's go harvest that Dugga Boy you've been after! Grab your double pipe and let's get to the Rover."

This is me when I hear the word "CREEDMOOR"

Next in line is the dufus's uttering "Send it". WTF are you doing? working in the mail room or shooting a rifle. Whoever came up with that term should be holding the target when they SEND IT!

"Send It" is what a spotter says to the sniper to take the shot.

And truth be told, “smoked him” too. As well as you just “let the air” outta that one. Or “molly whopped”.

Texas heart shot. I doubt Texas has a monopoly on someone shooting an animal in the ass.
Muzzle break. It's muzzle brake. You don't want to break or damage your muzzle. You want to brake or lessen the noise and recoil.
Rainbow trajectory.
Popped him good. Just say you made a good shot.
Assault rifle. Ain't no such thing. That has got to be at the top of my list. AR stands for Armalite Rifle for the company that developed it. Every time I hear assault rifle I want wrap one right around that Ahole's neck.
We hunters have our own language like any group and it is rife with slang words and phrases. Probably to an outsider a good deal of it sounds like a lot of gibberish from a mind with a greatly diminished modicum of cranial acuity. But we smoke 'em drt and harvest a lot of bewildered looks in the process.

“Weapon” I don’t use the term. I’m not military, I’m not using firearms against people. Anything that a person turns against someone else may be a weapon, a chair, a bottle or other simple object.

My firearms are not weapons in my view.

Hell in Australia if I used the term Weapon it might be to say he is a weapon! Like the same way I might think someone is a Tool! Not, in a good way, if I think you are a tool it’s not a compliment.

"High powered rifle." Used by the media to describe just about anything bigger than a .22.

Yet the license we hold for sport shooting is a weapon license that we get from the police weapons licencing branch! In my mind it's not a weapon, just a plain old sporting rifle!

Oddly enough it is not called a weapon in Zambia. It is referred to as a firearm. You apply for a firearms licence with the firearms department. And at police checks they will ask if you have a firearm on you.
If anyone asks you if you have a weapon, they are most likely referring to a part of your anatomy rather than a firearm!

I’m happy that Ours is a firearms licence , from Firearms registry. I own firearms, guns or rifles.
They do have a schedule of prohibited weapons. That would include most, military stuff , machine guns, semi autos adopted by the military. It includes silencers or suppressors and in NSW Australia it will drill down to crossbows , and even a slingshot and some items that might be used by martial arts people. The slingshot bit may be taking it too far I think.
