Good afternoon,
I am in the initial stages of looking into a family vacation for March-April 2022.
I am hoping some of the sponsors here can help me out in the planning process as it is a little different than what I am used to planning.
It all started with my mother in law telling me she wants to see Africa with my father in law. They are not hunters but definitely not against it. She also loves cruising, so she was going to book a cruise up the coast. Looking at the stops and itinerary I am not sure she would really get to see the true Africa that I love. I mentioned that maybe a better plan would be to join my family (wife and 2 kids will be ages 9 and 6) on a hunt/excursion vacation for 7-10 days and then go on her cruise afterword.
She loved the idea of staying in a hunting camp and doing tours of areas like Kruger, Victoria Falls, local schools to deliver supplies etc.
Ideally would be in a modern tent camp with amenities (as I would love to experience this myself) but not against a lodge. Would like the group to go on different tours every other day or so while I hunt with 1 or both of my kids. Animal list is really irrelevant to me and would be secondary to the sight seeing. More importantly is having the in laws experience Africa the way I love to see it.
Would be a total of 4 adults (1 hunting) and 2 kids (1 hunting ages 9 and 6)
Can anyone give me some ideas as to whether this is a possibility or just a wild dream?
If any sponsors of the site offer these types of trips or can provide any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Please pm me with options along with estimated costs, as with all of my plans the budget will likely impact most of the decisions I make.
Look forward to hearing the suggestions and feedback.
Thanks in advance.

I had a dyslexic moment with your thread title and thought it said:

Oops. My mistake.
That put a whole new twist on the thread.

Someone will jump in and help out.
Day trips and touring is all part of the game.

Excellent thanks for the help Brickburn.

Where did you hunt in Africa that last go round?

Last trip with my dad and son was in Kimberley with Liam Urry. Would love to hunt with Liam again but it is a long ways from Kruger and Victoria Falls which I think are must sees for this trip.
Back in 2011 I hunted in Limpopo with Cruiser Safaris and had a great time as well.
Really like the thicker bush area.
I would really love to hunt Zim, Moz or Botswana just to see a different area if possible.
Like I said in my initial post animal list is secondary to excursions but keep telling myself I need a croc or buff. Just not sure if budget allows. Likely have to stick with plains game again.

Good day sir,
We would love to help set up such a trip. We are however situated on the coast of the Eastern Cape, but have had numerous members here have us organize their itinerary to Victoria Falls and we could do the same for you.

Please be so kind to drop me a PM. Would love to hear from you,

Take Care,
Marius Goosen

Tried to send a pm. Not sure if I was in the right place as I have never sent one before.

Good day. We have the ideal location for your safari. Private camp in the Greater Kruger Park with daily game drives and excursions for the non hunters. And easy access to our hunting confession nearby. Limpopo Province. PM us and we can work on the planning.

Dear @GKNOX

Please feel free to drop us an e-mail as well at kowasadv@iafrica.com.na

We offer both plainsgame and biggame safaris in northern Namibia, in the Zambezi Region. We hunt in Bwabwata National Park in the Mahango Core Area or Mahango National Park as many people know it as. We have luxury tents and a beautiful lodge on the Okavango River, where the Okavango Delta starts. It's a plainsgame & biggame MECCA. There will be lots for the "non-hunters" to do... And the fishing is SUPERB (tigerfish, catfish and various bream species).

If you would like to see Vic Falls, it's an 5 hour drive from our camp... And you will get to spend some time in Chobe National Park in Botswana on your way to Vic Falls.

3 countries in one trip ;) without any hassle...!

Please feel free to drop us a mail...

My best,
Jacques

Happy planning! Have you considered Namibia for your family safari?
