South Africa
So I just wanted to share my trip of a lifetime. I just returned from a 7 day hunt in South Africa. It was a bow only hunt around 5 hours north of Johannesburg. We hunted with Harry Nell, Owner of African Arrow Safaris! Words cannot begin to explain how amazing this trip was. So we arrived the first night around 1am, and we were to excited to sleep. All four of us sat up getting gear ready and talking about what we thought the first morning would have in store for us. We had no idea. So sun comes up and we shoot our bows and get placed with our PH for the week. My PH's name was Johan and he was superb! Four of us hunted for 7 days and we took 28 animals in this time. We all had dream animals in mind we hoped we would get an opportunity at them at some point. Mine was Eland, two buddies were Kudu and the other buddy a Sable. First day did not disappoint as I connected with my eland first morning. Not only was he my dream animal, but he is the eland of a lifetime. I was also able to kill a blue and golden wildebeest, nyala, gemsbok, impala and wharthog. My friends shot kudu, zebra, black and blue wildebeest, nyala, steenbok, gemsbok, waterbuck, impala, wharthog and sable. The hunting was spectacular and the hospitality, food, lodging, over all experience was the same. We couldn't get over how amazing every aspect of the trip was. The guides took all of our wants into account and did whatever they could to make sure they were fulfilled. No one came home wanting anything more from the trip except wishing it wasn't over. We are already planning for another trip. African Arrow Safaris not only have quantity but due to there strict management, their quality is above all!! Harry not only wants you to kill, but he wants you to kill trophies! They work hard to get you the biggest of each species you are after! If you are on the fence about hunting Africa and wondering how or where to go, I would highly suggest African Arrow Safaris. Message me with any questions.

Great Nyala! The Blue and Gold Wildebeests will make great shoulder mounts together.

Awesome. How far did the eland go after the shot?

I’ve read those are tough animals and can go a long ways after a hit.

Sounds like you all had a great trip. Congrats.

The shot was perfect. He only ran around 70-80 yards. Got him falling on camera. It was a great feeling.

Great trophies bowhunting is the best

Congrats on your hunt and thanks for sharing!

Congratulations to you all.
You did get some very nice trophies.

Thanks for sharing. Awesome trophies!

Well done! You took some very nice animals and more importantly had the time of your lives doing it.
Welcome to AH and thank you for taking time to post a hunt report.

I also took a very nice Eland bull as my first African trophy with a bow. Something you will never ever forget that is for sure. Just one of my best days and memories of namibia. That's a picture perfect nyala congrats

Thank you all for the comments. I am back in the states, but my head is still in south Africa. I want to go back already! I cant wait for the next trip. We are all blue collar guys, so we saved for a few years to go. So I have started saving again and hopefully 2021 is the year!

Welcome to AH and thank you for sharing. Looks like you and your buddies had an amazing trip and you harvested so very nice animals. I really like the eland and impala.

Thanks flatwaterbill, I am very proud and honored to have been given the opportunities at all of the animals. It's crazy how much bigger those african animals are when you get your hands on them.

Some great trophies, thanks for sharing. Welcome to the African hunting addiction.

Wow those are phenomenal trophies. Especially with a bow. Well done.
