8x57r 360

Interesting caliber. Had one nearly thirty years ago in a drilling and I am not sure where I located brass. Lot of help right? But I did want to say that it is a fine little cartridge (think 30-30 or better yet 32-40) for deer. Bet it is in an interesting firearm.

And I am sure you already know it uses the .318 bullet. If I remember correctly, mine loved the 196 grain SP. Beautifully accurate at seventy yards.

Do some research, but you may be able to form brass from the 9.3x72r.

It is a double 16 or 16 and 8x57 r 360.I'll try to post photos.

@ Randy Phipps I had a feeling that Sellier & Bellot were the right people so I just checked their website. They have 8x57 JR AND 8x57 JRS in their catalogue. I did not look at their components list but ... how many rounds would you fire in the next decade or two?

The 8x57r/360 is an obscure and completely different 8mm cartridge than either the 8x57 JR or JRS. It would be like buying a box of 30-06 to try to use in a rifle chambered for a 30-30.

Fair enough. Bit too quick off the block there.

I have been through a similar exercise myself. (albeit with 8 x 60 r) To start with I reformed 7 x 65r brass with a set of dies from C H tool and die in the states. After years of searching I stumbled across these people (link below) I now have a couple of hundred properly head-stamped cases, which should last me a while.
I don't know if they make the case you are looking for but it might be worth dropping them a line. Good luck

Just checked their website and yes they do.

There you go.

Contact Jeff Robertson . He'll make you 8× 57 R 360 brass cases . It’s $5.95 each with a 50 piece minimum for a total of $297.50 plus shipping. Their lead time is 3 months. I ordered Brass Cases from them for my Wife's .240 Apex Holland and Holland Mauser rifle in the past . One of their Brass cases ( on average ) lasts 4 reloads at the very least.
Hope this helps.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
