Yep that’s why I have seen every PH I’ve ever hunted with walk up and stick a rifle barrel or shooting stick in his eye!
Yeah this buck especially bamboozled me, since I did touch his eye with my rifle the first time and he did not react. But yeah it was a close call and I'm just glad no-one got hurt.

Very unusual I should think. On the one hand I would say just nerves that didn't know it was over, but the way it tried to stand and then back up was pretty weird.
