Rimmed (only) Cartridges

405 Winchester and the 348 Winchester. The 405 was good enough for Teddy Roosevelt, good enough for me. The 348 just like the cartridge, would love to have a Double made in it.
I would buy a Ruger No 1 in 348 win. Most likely do anything a 35 wheelen would do.

.405 WCF, .45-90, .357 mag

7X57R is my favorite. It performs way above what it says it should on paper. Also like the .405 Win and 9.3X74r
I have heard to many good things about 7x57R to deny it a spot and to confirm it's placement...I've heard very little (personally none) bad reports on the 7x57R...

.22lr, .44mag and surprising why no one has mentioned 12 bore!

Three days ago I used a 7x57R to roll a close to 300lb boar hog in my cattle pasture. 100yd shot, lung shot and broke the off side shoulder. He never took a step. 140 gr hornady sst bullet

470NE

What's your favorite calibers and why?
Kharn
22K Hornet in a 1885 low wall, a bit better than the original hornet.
303 British just a brilliant round love it in the No4 and Mk111
444 Marlin built on a No4 action loaded with 28gn woodleigh soft nose to 2,370fps. Hits hard and leave biiigg holes in things
Let's not forget the 22 long rifle and the good old 12 gauge with breneke slugs.
Cheers mate Bob

Like @Hoss Delgado I also vote for the .303 british. My father had a martini endfield chambered for .303 he used his entire life and taught me on.

I've shot the normal NA stuff like 22lr, 30-30, 357 and 44MAG and 303British.

Although I haven't shot one, what I really would like to have is a Blaser K95 in 7x65R.
Always thought it would be a great lightweight mountain hunting deer and antelope cartridge.

rimmed cartridge rifles I currently shoot and hunt with
.45-70
.450-400 3"
9.3x74R
7x57R
.22 hornet.
interestingly, that cartridge line up could work for me to hunt anything, anywhere.
I have also used rifles in 8x57IRS, 8x57IR, .303 British, .30-30 win, .44 magnum, .357 magnum, and all the rimfires.

I aspire to one day own a nice German kipplauf in 7x65R

What doesn't any one else like the 444 Marlin. I am disappointed. It is a great cartridge in single shot, lever or bolt action.
Surely I'm not the only one.
I can't speak for anyone else but I've never seen on other then online. It's possible they just never caught on in my area though. I'm sure they would be popular if people new you could build one on a lee endfield action. There are several summit carbines around and when they come up for sale they demand a premium.

Skinnersblade
Built on the SMLE No4 action they can be loaded to impressive level.
The 280gn woodleigh at almost 2,400fps puts a lot of hurt on game.
With 5 shots in the mag you have 17,500 fpe on tap you can use very quickly

When they 1st came out they were loaded with pistol bullets. They blew apart. My friend shot a black bear about 6 times and his brother finished it with his 350 mag. That and the fact traditionalists were still with the 45-70. With the proper bullets it is a good cartridge.

.4-5 WCF
.45-90 WCF
.45-70 WCF
