I just received a heads up from another site claiming South African Airways is now charging $100 a gun per flight segment. Anyone know if this is true?

Yep - $100 for the international segments. I travelled internally last week $30 per domestic flight. From the SAA website:
Firearms will be charged at the following rates per sector.
Shooting / Hunting (Firearms & Ammunition – subject to correct transportation / safety procedure being followed).
Within South Africa USD 30
Within Africa USD 60
International USD 100
Ammunition: up to 5kg per passenger, will be accepted free of charge when packed separately due to regulations and the correct transportation / safety procedure being followed.

Yes this was verified a couple of weeks ago. Like @Hearties said $100 on international legs, this went into effect I believe on tickets purchased after May 15th or somewhere in May if memory serves me right.

Eh, a bit of mosspeaking. If $60 is outside the country but inside Africa, it's international, but not intercontinental. The $100 fee is actually intercontinental travel. Not like this would actually help you negotiate a lower rate.

Enjoyed reading your post again. Believe this is the 3rd time. I am scheduled to hunt w/ Legadema in Sep. Really looking forward to it.
