SOUTH AFRICA: My Once In A Lifetime Trip To Africa With Umlilo Safaris Eastern Cape

Congratulations on your safari! Thank you for sharing, it was great reading your report.

I too became emotional a number of times during my safari. Be well and God Bless.

Thank you huntermn15, it was surprising how it got to me, and it was also wonderful. I am not a talented writer, but I am glad you enjoyed it. I usually don't post anything online. This was just too much not to. May God Bless you too, and safe travels.

Thank you for a great report. Could tell you had the time of your life. Now, time to start planning that second trip.
Thanks for sharing, was a nice read.

Thank you Bill116, I am already thinking of it. I may put my house up for sale!

Thank you slam8031. I kept a journal, and each night I would write down the whole day's adventures so I would never forget any of it. :)
I am 7 years past (and 23 days, if anyone is counting) from my first trip over--and I relive the days over (now three safaris in) at least once a day!!! Cherish the memories, the photos, the friendships, and the time in the bush!!! The incredible creation that is etched in my brain is ...waiting for trip number 4.

great report! so awesome you got to share the experience with your son!
Congratulations on some fine trophies!

What a great hunt, thank you for sharing with us.

What a great report. Thanks for sharing your experience and emotion. Well done on your trophys, I am sure you will remember those days in Africa.

The Warthog is a fine specimen.
Booked and ready to go, I have 6 long months to wait. For my “one and only once in a lifetime hunt”
I’m taking my wife. We should be visiting Addo Elephant Park on our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Is it too much if I wear a “I’d rather be hunting” cap that day?

This was an excellent report! I enjoyed reading it and thank you for sharing. You got some great animals and love the shape of your kudu.

My wife is sick of me saying this is a once in a lifetime trip, lol.

I really enjoyed your hunting report, and I will look into Umlilo Safaris, as it sounds like they took care of you very well! I'm very happy for you that you took the opportunity to live this lifelong dream of yours and experience Africa! I can certainly tell that it meant a lot to you. Very nice as well that you had the company of your son as well. Did he also hunt? You took some very nice animals and I'm sure you're already excitedly planning where they will go in your home! Your Kudu looks a bit like the one I took from the Eastern Cape. Such beautiful animals. Thank you for sharing!

I enjoyed your report! Thank you for posting.

Now the spousal negotiations about where to hang trophies!!

Well slam8031, I look up to you! I hope someday I can be planning trip #4 as well. I am curious, have you stayed with the same outfitter, area, and game? Or have you tried out other countries and/or outfitters?

Thank you Kevin. Yes, having my son with me was the best. It is a memory I will hope to have for the rest of my life. I think we all look back at when they were little and wish we had spent more time with them.

What a great hunt, thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for reading my lengthy ramblings. Writing the report was an awesome way for me to relive and savor the time I spent in Africa, and now I will have the report forever.

Thank you Neale. I don't normally post anything online, but in this case I just couldn't help myself!

Thanks CBH! I am sure you will enjoy it immensely. Addo was fun. We saw lots of game, but the elephants were elusive. I saw about a dozen, but only the one was out of the brush and easy to photograph., most of them were in thick stuff. As for the hat, go for it! You already made me laugh just thinking about it! Good hunting on your trip! I can't wait to read the report.
