Just got back a couple of weeks ago from our first trip down to South Africa, Limpopo. May 1st-10th 2019. My wife and I both agreed it was the best trip we had ever been on in our lives. First day was Tammy's turn at a nice male Gemsbuck. Her First South African animal, as you can see from her smile, she is very happy to harvest this majestic animal.

Day 2 was off to another concession of Mof's and Tammy took this nice stallion, starting to make me a little jealous. But , happy wife = happy life.

Day 2 (late afternoon) was finally my turn to harvest my first South African plains game. We were looking for either a Zebra or Gemsbuck and came across this beautiful Sable. Now Sable was not on my list for our first trip, Mof assured me this was a better than average sable and I might consider taking him. After an hour of deliberation between Tammy and I we decided to see if we could put a good stalk on this fellow and see what happens. We got within 150 yards of him and the sticks went up and the 44 1/2" Sable went down. What an incredible experience for my first animal of the hunt.

Day 3 we had a tough go at it and finally I connected on this fast Zebra stallion! Boy can these animals move fast! Thanks Brian! (Our PH)

Day 4 brought on 2 incredible hunts for me on yet another concession close to the Waterberg Mountain range. Had 2 great stocks on a Golden Wildebeest and a Black Impala. Were from Edmonton, Alberta and usually hunt including bow season for about 3 months before we harvest an animal, here we are 3 days into our 10 day safari and we already have 5 beautiful plains game in the salt pit.

Day 5 brings on a nice female Gemsbuck for me back at Mof's home place, I'm very happy with this gorgeous female to have with Tammy's male Gemsbuck. Going to do a double pedestal mount showing the difference between the sexes.

Day 6 and were off to yet another concession! New scenery every day! We are looking for an nice Impala for Tammy this morning and again come across a nice looking Waterbuck (Not on our list) Brian our PH says he is "Bluxis" so after a 2 hour spot and stalk. I have this awesome 32" Waterbuck on the ground. We spent the rest of the afternoon just relaxing back at camp and taking in South Africa in all it's wonder.

Day 7 and of at 5:00AM for a 3 hour drive to another concession, still looking for a Impala for Tammy. Well as hunting goes in South Africa, you can probably count on seeing every other species other than the one you are hunting for. So it's Kudu that is next for me, I now know why they are called the "Grey Ghost". I took this guy at about 80 yards and could barely make out his body through the tall grass and thick brush. My first Kudu and I'm very happy with this mature old bull.

Day 8 and off to another concession, looking for the elusive Impala for Tammy. First animal we see is this beautiful Nyala bull warming himself up and browsing on the hillside. We do a quick stalk on him and get within 120 yards and again up go the sticks and down goes the 29 5/8" Nyala bull!

Not half an hour after we got my Nyala loaded in the box of the truck, Tammy was putting a stalk on her Impala. She made a perfect shot and he went about 40 yards and was down! She was so happy to finally get her Impala the whole group celebrated her harvest! What a Day!

Day 9 and still another concession to explore. we were after Springbok and I put a shot into this guy at full speed across the small opening when he crossed. I hit him in the hinds he was moving so fast, but the Sako 300 Winmag with Hornady ELDX 200gr. shells put him down swiftly.

Day 10 and we were again off and driving at around 5:30Am to another concession to hunt for Tammy's Blue Wildebeest. Well it came down to the last 10 minutes of daylight and Tammy pulled off a great spot and stalk on this beautiful bull, It was a heck of a trip and we will definatly be going back to see Mof and his crew in the near future. Thanks You Adansonia Safaris for a great introduction and experience to South Africa!

Good deal- you got into some of the more exotic stuff for a first timer :) I hunted with Mof in 2007 and 2009. I miss that radio blaring "Mof Mof Mof" LOL

Congrats on your hunt and thanks for sharing!

Congrats, nice trophies !

Thank you for sharing. I would say the two of you did quite well. I am under 10 months to go before my return. I can't wait and enjoy reading the reports on here.
Again, congrats to you and the Mrs for a job well done.

Congrats on some great trophies. We hunted with Mof in 2013 and had a great time.

Congrats on a great safari. You could go on 10 safaris and not better your sable, nyala or waterbuck. Fantastic trophies.

Lots of great animals! Congrats!!

What a great first safari. It's wonderful that you and the Mrs. have the opportunity to hunt together!
