I bought this rifle to take to Africa this year and then ended up getting a .458 Lott instead. This rifle is unfired and in excellent condition as it was when I bought it from the original owner’s son. It sat in a collection it’s whole life. Very nice wood on this one. Located in SC but will ship to your FFL at your expense. There's no fading to the bluing...that's just glare.

Great wood and fair price. Good luck with the sale!

Nice rifle

FYI that gun is one of the early or first RSM models. Ruger does not have a clear path on serial numbers i.e. this 780 serial number prefix is older than the 750 ones. This older model has a stock a couple inches longer (maybe only 1.5, I've not actually measured) with the barrel band sling swivel going through the stock. Most definitely CRF. These older models are a bit heavier. There was a post on here a while back talking about there actually being 3 iterations, with the third being the lightest weight. I don't have any personal experience with that but hope to learn more.

All the RSM's I've shot are good accurate shooters. I have one of these 780 models in 416 Rigby. Several of the 750 models plus several of the smaller caliber 760 Express models. They are all good shooters and top quality guns that seem undervalued for the quality.

James..Pay attention to @ActionBob. He and I together have bought many RSMs. And we are not the only ones. Early RSMs as this one is, is a bit different than the later ones. You should study up on them. They are all outstanding rifles. This one is a deal, even though an 90-91 model or abouts. It is well worth the asking price based on the wood. Some of the best I have seen on an RSM.

The layout of the wood grain on this one through the grip and into the stock is about perfect. I'd buy it if I didn't have a 375 Ruger and a No. 1 375 H&H.

Great rifle at a good price for someone on AH. Both of my RSM's (.375H&H & .416 Rigby) are tack drivers.

I can attest to the 416 being a Mexican fighting bull killing machine! :A Shades:
