Smart move for Botswana. You can not ignore the PR war.

Interesting

Thanks for sharing. Based on the way this article is written they have a lot of work to do. The tired, repetitive turns of phrases is just lame. Although they did manage to blame Trump.

I told a girl at work they opened elephant hunting in Botswana the other day and she was horrified. I asked her how many elephants she thought were left in Africa "i dunno, maybe 1,000-2,000".

I will add she's a really nice person and i corrected her and explained how the anti hunting groups spread falsehoods.

But that's the crap we're fighting against.

A good idea for Botswana. I think it is time for more pro-hunting groups/countries to do the same thing.

Thankfully they didn't get Harvey Weinstein's firm. Surprised anyone in Hollywood would take the job. Pheroze: is there anything that the snowflakes have not blamed on Trump? JP......where were girls like that when I was single? Anyway, I recently had an argument with a genius from the UK who told me "the elephants did fine for thousands of years before man started hunting them". I'm tired of explaining things rationally to dickheads and losers. I'm taking a more aggressive approach. Great thread, thanks for posting.............FWB

Social media has empowered even the most lame examples of flawed human DNA to parrot another's message. Social media, socialism, and all forms of collective "group think" are dangerous and have been since the Greek city states. The philosopher Plato had an opinion of group think and mod rule;

"Plato rejected Athenian democracy on the basis that such democracies were anarchic societies without internal unity, that they followed citizens' impulses rather than pursuing the common good, that democracies are unable to allow a sufficient number of their citizens to have their voices heard, and that such democracies were typically run by fools."
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_democracy

Social media such as twitter and Facebook are the tools of fools.

Today whenever some famous actor/actress, talk show host, or other form of monetized talking head voices a foolish idea based on their attachment to a teddy bear, in short time 100,000 other fools are speaking the same gibberish.

Hopefully Hollywood can spin a good marketing plan!

I agree with you however in that town $125,000 doesn’t go very far.

Unfortunately, you’re right. The left has created such a stigma about hunting as a whole that it will take a very loud “message “ to overcome.

This isnt about the 125k, this is a test case for much bigger ambitions. It will be a million in no time, 125 is just for the plan. And this goes beyond Botswana, they will market this to RSA, Zim, Namibia, Tanzania, etc. They wont stop there, next is DSC, SCI, WSF, Ovis, DU, RMEF, etc. All the western states. They are developing the blue print with Botswana, but this is just the start.

Before they took this gig, they did some test messaging and surveys and know what tone to hit to sway opinions. They have a strategy and it goes way beyond 125k.

This is what alot of us having been saying we as hunters need. I hope it works.

This is going to prove very interesting with some Follywierdos on the board. I see some hot battles about what should be published but I don't think it will change the focus. The Southern African nations have held their summit and pretty much agreed with what Botswana is doing. I foresee a consolidated front for the sensible hunting of all African game, not just elephants. The economics are too large to ignore even by the locals.

It is so much fun that Botswana supposedly went right into the center of the nutter universe to hire help.
At least they caused a stir.

They really need to contact Disney for help.

EXACTLY!!! Otherwise we face the danger of having our sport banned because of the (ignorant) public opinion, as formed on the widespread acceptance of deliberate lies, deception and misinformation.
