Hello to all! I've been a hunter all my life but have yet to go overseas to chase down game. Reading African hunting stories (like those by Peter Capstick) got me interested in African game, which seems far more challenging than North American game. I look forward to reading through the forums and interacting with those with deep hunting knowledge

Welcome to AH.
There are plenty of challenges to be had in Africa.
Enjoy your planning.

Giday and welcome to the A H forums

Welcome from a fellow Canuck, you found a great place to start your journey to Africa.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard stinkylegs. Please tell us a little more about yourself as it relates to hunting. Things like what have you hunted previously, what kind and caliber rifles do you own, do you reload. Do you have any thoughts or plans to hunt Africa any time in the near future? I like your sense of humor, "Canuckistan" that terminology was a first for me.

Welcome Slinkylegs to the AH forum! Get yourself to Africa! You won’t regret it!

Welco e to AH slinkylegs! I'm sure you will enjoy your time here. Have fun exploring the site.

Ah yes, sorry that I forgot all that information. i have hunted much small game, but I suppose you are looking for big game lists haha. Whitetail deer is the main focus here, but black bear and moose are common game as well. Hoping to go for elk this fall, although work may prevent that. I do enjoy hunting predators like fox, coyote, and would love to hunt wold this year as well. I tend to hunt for meat, so no monster trophies on my wall. That much being said, my dad has a boone and crocket whitetail, and two more that just missed out.

i don't own many guns currently, as I sold a number off a few years ago when I was in school. Thus, currently I own:
- Henry Small Game Carbine .22LR
- CIL 16 G shotgun
- Savage 11/111 Hog Hunter in .308
- Tikka T3 Lite in .204 Ruger
- Sako High Power Mauser Magnum in .375 H&H, although I'll be looking to sell that once I nail down the worth (it just doesn't fit me nice).

I do reload and love doing so. I remember my dad reloading many times, so I loved being able to watch and help whenever I could. My primary gun I reload for now is the .204, mainly because it is such a pleasure to shoot.

African hunting has been a dream, but it will need to wait for the time being. Just starting a family so there is a lot on the go at the moment haha. My sister in law just got back from Uganda, as she was doing some work over there. Says it is absolutely beautiful.

Welcome to AH. This is the place for everything having to do with hunting Africa.

Welcome to AH from another canuck slinkylegs. Tons of experience and info on this site, read, learn, dream and GO to the dark continent. You will not regret.
