I see pictures of these things all the time but now I can not find where to by them. I am looking for a plastic slip top bo for 416 Ruger. I would prefer a 10 round box but a 20 would do. Where do I buy these things?

Thanks Albert,
I have looked there already. They have a huge selection but not 416.

Have you tried:

Thanks everyone. I bought some MTM ammo wallets. As long as nothing rattles these should work.

Got the ammo wallets. Unfortunately the 416 Ruger is too narrow a cartridge for the safari wallet. They do "click" into the standard large wallet however.

Ebay? its worth a try, sounds like the one you need is not so common

Have you found the slip top box you were looking for?

Can you buy another rifle to solve the problem. Something using ammo that suits the available boxes. It’s seems there is no other way.

I like the way you think. Really outside the box.

Would a 300 win mag box not work? isn’t the case body diameter of the Ruger the same as the belt on the win mag or am I confused?

That’d be correct for the Ruger Mag body- standard belted mag dia. If there’s a little rattle or too long, just cut out a foam spacer and glue into the lid- I do it anyway to keep carts from rattling around... then just use a heavy duty rubber band to hold the lid firm to the box. Standard, Magnum-sized slip top boxes are fairly well available from many of the usual suspects.

Graf has quite a few 20 end slip tops including a 10 round slip top for 50 BMG sized mags as pictured in the previous post showing a 10 rounder for a Barrett. Might be a little large though.

I'm reloading some 375 Ruger and just picked up some new slip cover boxes and recalled this post since the brass is the same.
So, for a loose fit with the bullet up it is indeed the MTM Case-Gard J-20-LLD. They are loose and rattle a bit and the box is a bit long since it's made for longer magnums but I put some leftover foam from the Barnes Bullet boxes in the top and they don't go anywhere. If you want a snug fit with no rattle use the regular J-20 series large rifle for 30-06 and such. They fit point down lose and point up very snug. I stop them at about 1/4 inch from the bottom and stagger them and they are OK to get out, all the way down is tight.
