Where to hunt Caribou?

I would go hunt the Central Barren Ground Caribou in the Northwest Territories of Canada. It very remote and unique experience.
Yeah Eric, just because you shot a Booner bull there! (y)

I hear you Kurt! If it makes you feel better Bob shot two bigger caribou the next year. It was great hunting trip though, something I will never forget!

Being that I live in Alaska you'd think I could easily give you an answer for this state but as of late it's up in the air. Trust me, I'm looking for a friend and myself in 2020. Here's what I see here. The Porcupine Herd in the Brooks Range and northwest arctic is huge at the moment, but I can't seem to find one good outfitter to fly me into it and I'm honestly nervous about it because caribou populations cycle. The Western Arctic herd is going up slowly, look into Bushwacker Air and do research for flyong services out of Kotzebue. The 40-mile herd is going up, check out 40-Mile air and others out of Tok, Alaska. Just a warning, it can get pricey. Flying into most of these herds is $3500 US or more. It's frustrating.
I've done 3 trips in the last 3 years. Learned a few things. 40 mile is impossible to book with unless a repeat customer. Also bushwacker has a really bad reputation and has actually been banned from the refuge according to my pilot. Idk
I used shadow aviation, flew right out of fairbanks and paid total of 3520 for my son and I together. Guys quirky but fair and honest.

Yeah, I heard 40-mile was impossible for moose unless a repeat customer, heard some real nightmares there. But figured 'bou was OK since I had a coworker use them a few years back and he was a first time customer. Sent you a PM for more info.
Thanks.

Living life like a lion for 1 day is better than living life like a jackal for 100 years.
