For Sale

Dakota 76 458 Lott.
24" Barrel.
9lbs 8oz With Scope Installed.
3 Round Magazine
Mercury Recoil Reducer In Butt Stock.
Factory Synthetic Stock with 14" LOP, hand bedded at the factory with aluminum pillars.
Talley 30mm Scope Rings and Bases.
Steiner 1-5×20 Hunting Z Scope. Heavy Duplex.
V notch, windage adjustable sights.

Used condition. Has been hunted with and shows typical handling marks on the stock and has some scratches on the barrel. Bolt knob has some blueing wear, and floor plate has some blueing wear as well, from field carry. The blueing has taken on a nice plum color. Mechanically very sound. Bolt operation is smooth, and feeds very well. This rifle appears to have been carried more than it's been shot. The action is nice and tight. Will make an excellent DG Rifle. You will not find a Dakota 76 at this low of a price anywhere else!
More pics available on request.

$3500.00 Shipped to lower 48.

That will almost pay for a cow buffalo!
Getting the paperwork (SAPS, 4457, motorized stuff, etc) done here. Decided to take my MRC on our hunt. It has Africa experience and my shoulder is familiar with it. Now I can go ahead and finish getting ready. No decision on what caliber, nor what rifle:ROFLMAO::LOL::D!

I wish I could make up my mind! I was OK until I through a 9.3x62 and a 458 Lott in the mix! Now I have to choose between the 9.3 and two 375s for my "small gun" and then choose between two 416s and a 458 for my "big gun"!
Unless the 458 Lott sells, then....that will narrow it down a bit. And that all depends on if I actually leave it up for sell, because now I'm having second thoughts about selling it!
It may end up in a coin toss.....lol!

I only take one rifle. It’s hard enough dragging it around the airports. I’m getting a hard side carry-on with 4 wheels for everything else. I think that will work at Joberg with the new rules. I think I can get my ammo box, 2 sets of underwear, 1 change of hunting clothes, fleece vest, sweat pants to sit around the fire and sleep in, toilet kit and a pair of camp shoes. Oh and some hard candy sweets for the kids.
Johan should have his 375 H&H by then, so I’ll have some extra ammo to test his new rifle out. Can’t let him do it all by himself:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:!

:D this rifle would fit right in with the rest in my safe:ROFLMAO:

I'll also throw in the following items, if you're willing to pay the extra shipping.

50- Swift A Frame 450gr bullets.
43- Woodleigh 480gr Solids
100- Hornady 350 gr RNSP bullets.
80 pieces of new 458 Lott Brass
RCBS 458 Lott Dies

WOW! If I could handle the recoil, I’d jump on this! That’s got to be another $500 worth of extras!
In his book on buffalo hunting, Ron Thomson’s battery was a 458 Lott for backup and a 375 H&H for general use and loaning to clients.

Yes it's a deal for sure! I got a great deal on the package myself, so I'm willing to pass it along to another member. Truth is I bought it on impulse because the deal was so good, then I took a long look at my full safe, and figured I'd just stick with 375 and 416 for now.

So you're not going to check anything except your gun and one carry on? I didn't think you could have ammo in the gun case or in your carry on luggage.

I meant carry-on size, but checked. I just don’t need a full size piece of luggage.
Sorry I wasn’t clear.

Toby, the next thing Spike is going to post is after you shorten the barrel, take it with him on Safari and sort of forget and leave it:LOL::ROFLMAO::D!

I have two 30/06 rifles, so that covers anything the 7x57 and 318 WR will cover.
My 9.3x62 will cover for 350 Rigby. My 375 H&H Mag will cover for 404 Jeffrey. And if I kept the Lott, it would handle the rest! But...nice try! :sneaky:

Oh dear........seems you take too many sensible pills...............so here we go......get rid of those 30_06 things......bit like my feelings on 375 to me....:D.....now you need the 275.....350 .....at least........and yup that other 375 thing goes...........so 404 here it comes.... (y).....always might need something bigger than the lott.....you know... just in case.....so hello 500 jeff... . There all sorted.....you got rid of the boring common stuff and now have some exotics.....far more interesting :A Banana::A Banana::D Beers:

I do like the idea of being an advisor on these things!
