I'm after a .375H&H, probably a CZ550 will consider others pending price. I'm looking for complete rifle something to use.

$?

Sorry, UG's Used Guns, silly me that is running in another tab, I thought you had one for sale.
I'm talking to the wife on the phone as i work away and have to keep the peace.
id prefer an open sight option,
Is anyone out there that has a .375H&H that they can live without?

Any thoughts on this, ive never seen one, Stainless Walnut

Calibre/Item: 375 H&H
Make: Savage
Model: 116
Action: Bolt
Condition: Excellent
Price: $1750

Yeah for a while this site was the first thing I looked at in the morning. I stopped cause it was getting expensive...

I see you are looking for a complete rifle, however I have an option that you may consider. I am having an Interarms Mark X sent to me that has a 375 Weatherby chamber. I'm having the barrel removed so that it can be replaced with a 300 Weatherby that I got from CP Donnelly several years ago. This will leave me with an extra 375 Weatherby barrel. If you want to use it for building a 375, it's yours.

I'd steer clear of Savage for anything serious. I have two for small game (.223 & .308). Nice and accurate but have serious reliability issues.
i. Unreliable ejection caused by an under powered ejector spring and too short an ejector plunger. Springs which worked originally often weaken rapidly. Fundamentally this is an engineering issue as the diameter is too small for the spring power required.
ii. The Accutrigger system is highly unreliable. Allegedly it was designed so that if the rifle was bumped or dropped, the sear will lockup. I suspect this system was designed by a litigation lawyer and not an engineer and definitely not by a hunter. With many of these rifles, even vigorous cycling of the bolt is enough to cause the lockup. Savage apologists and fanboys will cite incorrect trigger adjustment and technique as the cause, but the truth is that it's flawed design. Unimportant when shooting feral pests, could get you killed on anything serious.
iii. Savage Arms under went an ownership change and the new company is disavowing parts and support for rifles made by their predecessor. This problem is magnified in Australia where parts and support for Savage were limited to start with.

I’d keep an eye open for CZs, Brnos or Winchesters on Used Guns - or the right Sako (one with open sights). Take your time and eventually a good buy will pop-up.

A friend of mine who lives in Darwin has a CZ he wants to sell after a Brno 602 turned up BEFORE he even picked the CZ up from the shop !!!!

If you are interested pm me your details and ill pass them on to my bud in Darwin.

Thanks Ray B for your offer, Thanks for all replies.
thanks Paul T for the lead.

I have something cooking. I’ve agreed on a purchase.

Now have. I’d done the right thing? Is the .375 going to be a better one and only big bore for me? It’s maybe more versatile for Oz,
I guess we will see when I can try both Side by side. And then try convince myself to hold on Tom the .458 as well, no I can’t afford it is is available for sale as soon as I have my .375 up and running. No Buffalo where I live but what if I need it.

Funnily a Water Buffalo was sighted and then later sighted and shot in Western NSW . I don’t think they confirmed how it got there but it’s like some fallow that were released where they were never seen before, they’re were transported there.

:A Victory:

Just finished paying him. Haven’t explained this to the wife yet, I gonna sell the other one , i think

Suggest Winchester -price and control feed
And no feed issues

You got a good there Chris.
I know for a fact that Mick hadn't even picked it up from the gun-shop yet, let alone fired it !

Well done and congrats on a .375

Dr, I jumped the gun, a CZ came up and actually I had seen it listed before Paul’s mate got it, I think I’ve done ok.
I would,like a Pre 64 Winchester, most I’ve seen are costly.
I have a Timney trigger and Warne Premier Maxima QD mounts scope if I’ve got that right they are a discontinued stronger model. I researched 5 years back when I got the .458
I like the idea that I can get a Kevlar stock later if I want to weatherproof it , then there is Cerakote. And Alaska, don’t wake me.
