Bossie Mostert hurt by a wounded buffalo today

If you don’t want to get hurt, don’t go hunting. Bad luck. Bossie or a client wanted to kill that buffalo.
Why blame a wild animal which just defended itself?
What a dick.

On this note @BWH and I are in the process of setting up a fundraiser to help Bossie out. Give me a few days please and I will let everyone know the details.
I will watch for details.

I don’t know the man but tonight my family and I will pray for him.

Update from Bossies FB page:

Hi Everyone, Just the latest update about Bossie. The surgery last night went well, there's no damage on the inside except for 3 broken ribs and a torn diafram. The Buffalos' horn missed his lungs and other vital organs. He is going back into surgery today to get the leg wound properly cleaned and closed. He is still in Intensive Care but he is awake and remembers what happened. Ronel is with him and she says he looks like a new man this morning!! Everything is a blessing from above that there is no major damage to his organs. Please keep him in your prayers still. Thanks for everyone who called or messaged from around the world. We will keep you all posted

Good news. Really glad.

Hit-te-te Bossie!

In the last 3-4 years he has:

-lost his home and the contents to a tornado and rain.
-wife died.
-now, been hit and gored by a buffalo. ..........

Enough already!

Bossie, just hurry up and get better.

Good news on the internal organs. Hopefully no infection. Glad he is doing better...

Praying for Bossie to have a speedy recovery! I love how as a community of fellow hunters and professionals that we immediately are willing to step up and answer the call for a fellow member whether we’ve had the pleasure of meeting him or not. Bossie has shown us all what the true meaning of perseverance and passion for lifestyle is. What a blessing a man of that caliber is to hunting in general and especially to those of us here on AH. If you can’t respect the work ethic and sacrifice he has made to pursue his chosen profession or the dedication he has shown to support and take care of his family, there’s something morally wrong with you. As far as the one negative person commenting on this thread, I’m personally so glad I’ve never had to be around you. That would be a complete waste of time that I could never get back. You sir need to take a serious look at yourself. The easiest thing in the world to be is kind and compassionate towards others. I hope in the future if you continue to post, that you would be respectful of how close knit of a group that we have here and understand that you are skating on very thin ice we you chose to jackass yourself over someone’s misfortunes, especially someone that’s respected as much as Bossie. He’s earned every bit of the respect he is shown, just as you’ve earned every bit of disdain shown to you.

Well said Justin

I hope Bossie makes a speedy recovery. He has been through a lot already.

I'm trying to find out of Bossie is a member of PHASA and I don't think he is (like all but positive).

If he is not, he does not qualify for Frontline assistance.

I'm not always a big believer in the associations but a PH should 100% be a member for this type of help alone...

Sincerest best wishes to you Bossie for a full and speedy recovery.

It is in difficult moments such as these that you get to see the true mettle of Men such as Bossie, he will have a hard road to travel but he will do it and do it well.
Of that I have no doubts.

Bossie, if you are reading this know that a very good friend of mine took a hit, here in Aus, about 18 months ago from a bull he failed to stop and it got through the line.
It touched him up pretty bad. He was in an extremely remote location and was airlifted out many hours after the incident. He endured many procedures and rehabilitation for many months but now he is back hunting and guiding and has recovered.
There IS light at the end of this dark tunnel.

YOU WILL GET THERE WITH OUR SUPPORT.
You are in our thoughts and Prayers for recovery.

I also know that in situations such as this the scars can be more than what is just visible.
When you are in a frame of mind to feel comfortable to do so feel free to reach out and talk, anytime.

Best wishes, know that you have the support of many.

Maybe the other Association?

Maybe the other Association?

Yeah, I thought same thing.

I've sent a message to Frontline just in case the rules have chanhed, but I understand if they don't. I've also sent a PM on FB to Bossie's PH Dieter to see of any other association that might help. I haven't heard back yet.
