I put going off to the last minute and now I am paying for it! Can you guys make any recommendations for a hotel near the convention that won't be ridiculously overpriced?

I looked at Crescent Court, ZaZa & the Omni and they average at around $700.

I know I will pay a premium for being so tardy, but I don't want to pay that per night. Thank you.

Try the Sheraton Downtown.

I can tell you this, a big hotel screw up this year, the adolphus was overbooked by 200, and DSC is trying to get those rebooked to a different hotel. You are going to be hard pressed to find a hotel downtown.

Two years ago I ended up farther away but just took the train. Wasn't too bad.

The Holiday Inn Market Center appears to no longer be a DSC hotel for the convention as it is not on the shuttle route. We used to stay there as it was a bit less expensive not being quite downtown. It is an older hotel but it was clean and the people there were nice. It is not within walking distance, so you'd be driving or getting an Uber.

You could try Aloft "Downtown". It's a smaller hotel and maybe people don't know about it. It's a bit funky, but clean and very close.

I'm staying at the Cambria which is on the shuttle route, just checked on their website, they have one room left for $229 per night so if you want it act fast! Good luck.

I just booked Hampton Inn Market Center around 140/night

What about La Quinta downtown?

We're doing the Westin. It is at least on the shuttle route. And we hated the Aloft last year. Way too quirky for our tastes.

This is my first year attending this show so I opted to stay somewhere that I could use the shuttle service. What is the parking situation at the convention center if you stay somewhere that doesn't offer the shuttle service?

Parking is ok if you get there early in the morning, 8:30am. If you plan to sleep in and leisurely drive in about noon then it will be a pain.

Team Fet Hacienda in Farmersville, TX is available. It's about a 45minute drive to the convention center.

Daily Rate:
1. Feed the dog
2. Kick the cat. This is for self preservation because the cat really thinks its a leopard and you are tasty.
3. If you agree to take the cat home with you, I provide transportation and fuel for free.

I booked through Hotels.com . Got a room at a reasonable rate at a Hampton Inn on I-75 about 6 mi. north of Convention Center. A good location and a good area of Dallas.

Hope it’s not I-75, traffic will really suck getting to Texas! Lol
You are probably at the same Hampton I’m at on I-35. If they booked you off 75 I would request a refund!

We will be staying at the Nylo next door to Gilley's again this year. It is only about 8 blocks to the convention center or the hotel will shuttle you.

You’re just across the lake from me......

I booked at Indio I believe they had 2 rooms left $280ish

I just did the Fairmont, not the cheapest but not much more expensive then the few alternatives available.

Is there an AH cocktail party?
