Won a Safari Hunting Package, Need Two Others

With stock prices down, oil, soybeans, corn, milk, beef all down. Interest rates up. I'm guessing a lot of Outfitters are waiting to see responses at the shows but betting the deals get even better by the time DSC and HSC roll around

I saw a couple of outfitters on a FB page going on about how important it was for a client to book right now as prices were guaranteed to go up in 2019! Better save while you can!

Of course one of the guys said a couple of years ago that Sable and color variants would keep going up too . :E Lol:

I received the 2019 catalog in today's mail and wouldn't you know it I won the same "prize". No thanks, I'm sure I can do better at the DSC show in a couple of weeks!

Wow, those are steep prices.

Be cautious of auctions too.

Yup; They can be great deals, just have to discern whether that is a deal for the buyer or the outfitter ;)

The “grand prize” probably includes some ocean front property in Arizona...

And this is where AH helps, this thread being a case in point . :)

At those prices on trophy fees, the day fees Better be a Free.

Hell, at those prices, the hunt ought to come with hot and cold running maids in your room!

Of the animals on the list posted that I have taken on my two trips over, all but one was at least 100 percent more than what I paid. The Burchell's zebra was 50 percent higher than what I paid at Paw Prints.

Sure,
File was pretty big so here are some screenshots.

What are:

Barber sheep-Barbary sheep or Aoudad perhaps?Or sheep with very short hair??
Hybrid Mouvlon Sheep-Mouflon perhaps? crossed with something?
Simitar Oryx-Scimitar Oryx perhaps or crossed?

Tamara Sheep-Damara Sheep which is basically a tame sheep with big horns?

Ferral goats- Feral Goats perhaps? @US$2650 each!!!! Holy crap!!

I would just walk away to be quite honest.....

You've got that one all wrong...

This sheep is dangerous game.. he carries scissors and a straight razor...

If he gets really pissed he will come after you with a beard trimmer!

beware!

The Middle Eastern variety is even more dangerous. They use fire too.
(I used to visit a small town barbershop in Lebanon, and the guys would finish my neck hair with fire)

Not bad if your after a monkey, jackal, and baboon!

Prices are about 30% higher than many other good outfitters. The hartebeest price is the highest I've ever seen!

I also won a "FREE" safari once and it was the same extremely high trophy fees, it was a well known outfit with a good reputation but very high trophy fees!

My advice is to pass on the hunt, there are better and safer options out there.

Wow, didn’t realize this was such a common scam! I figured it sounded to good to be true. Thanks everyone for the heads up, at least now I’ll be able to spot a scam like this going forward.
It’s not necessarily a scam. Many outfitters are only emailing Trophy fees and not listing them online for various reasons.
As has been said do your homework!

Living life like a lion for 1 day is better than living life like a jackal for 100 years.
