I have held back from commenting all along on the three threads this individual has started.
From the thread about "Black Rifles" i was dubious of the intentions, made more so by some comments there.
Then this thread started and at the point where most of the helpful and honest speaking people here were being insulted, i realized this user is nothing more than a troll.
Once the heated comments abated here, another thread was started with what i perceive to be the intention to rile up people again.
Many of us on this forum have had heated debates and discussions about a wide variety of topics, most do not degenerate into name calling and insults.
This one has, this user has and this user has no place in this forum.
I enjoy this forum and i enjoy reading the many threads on here, the discussions provide interesting reading, the knowledge base here is astounding and for people getting started and honest about hunting, there is no friendlier environment or more agreeable group of people willing to help than what is found here on this forum.
I would like to see that maintained.

From what I can tell he's been fiddling a tune that has been danced to 187 times and it appears that he holds some sort of hypnotic effect on some here that demands that they play his game by his rules.
Maybe he's some sort of evil genius sent here by the Chinese to infiltrate and brain wash everyone so that he can corner the world market on lion penis, yak scrotum and rhino testicals?
Or maybe he's the guy who invented that piece of paper that has "turn me over" written on both sides and is left on a table at GED study group and then takes bets on how many times each person there will turn it over?
What mysteries life has in store for us!

The anonymity of an internet forum does allow for odd interactions. Sometimes we have someone show up that really isn't a hunter or shooter, they just pretend to be with the intent of stirring up a pot of crap stew. These are usually referred to as internet trolls.
Then sometimes we have someone who is authentic in being a hunter, but they're also something of an internet bully. They'll say things on an internet forum to people that if they were speaking face to face they wouldn't. All in an effort to prove that they're right and you're wrong as if it was really necessary in the first place.
I don't know what the situation is here, but these guys come and then shortly they go.

Nobody, not a one, jumped on him with both feet, stinking or no, in any of the threads he started.
Most agreed with him that his .308 would work or gave their opinion that it would not be ideal for 500 m shots. You included.
Nobody said he was a fool, acted in a self righteous manner or did anything other than comment on topics he started.
He became increasingly belligerent culminating with an attack on admin. That kind of stupidity alone should see him off.
It is not genius or mysterious or hypnotic. It is an attention getting device which I suspect was employed by someone who is a member here under another name. It is annoying and rude as I and others wasted our time on him.
I take issue with that, as I take issue with the inference that disagreeing, or agreeing in this case, makes me a know it all loudmouth. At least I can assure you that I will not be an anonymous loudmouth. Bring your mighty weatherby gigantogun next time you are here in Africa and you are welcome to come and shoot dinner plates off hand on my farm.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are referring to social media and internet conversations in general. I really don't believe that is an accurate characteristic of this site or the people participating - at all. It is an unfortunately common occurrence of two others in which I have been a member (and to which I no longer subscribe). But not this one. Just the opposite.

Why don’t you all set the ignore function on him as IvW suggested? I did, and I no longer have to suffer his insulting remarks.
The latter topics of this thread were very specific as to the behavior of posters on this thread and others started by 308w. You commented on loudmouth internet experts hiding anonymously. Say then exactly who and which posts you are referring to or you may run the risk of posters here taking offense at blanket statements which can easily be retracted as: I was speaking in general.
I am offended by 308w and I will call out a post I feel is unwarranted as was yours by referring in general to members who have tried to help.
Dinner plates was a reference to your statement that in order to hunt successfully one should be able to hit a 6” target off hand @ 100 m and that you do so with your Weatherby 378 or such. My comment was not snide but aimed rather at your very vocal opinions on dg calibers, recoil and shooting ability which seem to have taken a u turn on threads posted by 308w.

If you were commenting on the net in general I’ll agree with you. My reaction comes from the fact that this thread had none of what you were referring too. 308 was treated in a very civil manner by all and it wasn’t relevant to bring up your pet peeve about others prescribing what and how to shoot.
I meant it. Bring your cannon, I’ll supply the gongs and cold beer after.
