I'm guessing you meant 308 Win and not 2308 Win in your post. If this is the case, I'd say the two most popular powders in the U.S. for this caliber are RL15 and Varget. Do you have access to either Hodgdon or Alliant powders?

Don't know if this is any help but these are two online vendors that have the book in stock.

The only load I could find for the 165 Swift out of a .308 Win was a MAXIMUM load of 39.5 of Norma 201 powder. The 180 Swift loads used Norma 203B

Yes i meant 308 Winchester.
I found few online stores but none ship to Croatia. I have all powders awailable here.
Was thinking about Varget because of temp stability.
Norma load data has low velocity and uses Norma powders which i dont prefer

My son's .308 loves Varget with a number of bullets. My Swift manual shows 43.2gr of Varget as a starting load with 46.5gr as maximum with the 165gr A-Frame.

Great. With that load it could bring around 2750ich fps?
Could you just share OAL?
I use swift a frame 180 in my 30-06 from norma and that is the best I have seen so far. From 20kilo piglet to 130kilo boar everything fell on spot with exit. Just have to try it in my 308. I bought one box of Norma 165 but they are way too expensive.

The loading manual agrees basically with your velocity expectation. The OAL they show just 2.810" which is SAAMI spec. I don't remember working with these in my son's rifle. But in others I typically would seat the bullet to the cannelure. This resulted in a round typically less than SAAMI length.

FYI (and this may not be important to your choice, but could help with finding load data): Norma 203B is the same powder as Alliant RL15 - manufactured at the same plant (Eurenco Bofors), but sold to different vendors, and therefore marketed under different brand names.

Is there accurate 2520 listed in Manual? I have lots of it (Lovex 73.6) and it shows great velocity.

They only list IMR, Hodgdon and Alliant powders, so unfortunately no.

You're welcome!

As an aside, I really wish Swift would publish their load data online like Nosler. I really resent having to buy the book as well as the projectiles - especially down here in SA where everything is double the price of the US.

With A-Frames, I'd use the powder manufacturers websites. Likely they won't have the A-Frame listed, but if you choose a bullet of somewhat similar build, you can get a starting load.

Also, I'm happy to look it up for you in my manual. I have it on my computer having bought a disc with it. Not sure why they don't just make it available for download.

I've got both manuals also (hard copies), and don't mind posting loads for those that need them

Thanks Gents - much appreciated. Would love to see the Scirocco 165gr 30-06 loads if you get a chance

Got it Phoenix Phil - many thanks

Hi, is it possible for someone to share the Swift A Frame load data on a 375 H&H, also what would be the recommended powder?

Most people reloading in South Africa has now moved over to Hodgdon or IMR.

Thanks in advance
