it looks like beretta aust are the agents for swift bullets, but seem to have difficulty supplying.
i have discovered that brownells aust can get them for you.
they take ages as they have to come from usa as in individual order, go through customs, then go through the aust distributor.
this is ok as long as you order well in advance of requirement.
customs seem to give them a hard time, and i suspect this is probably due to govt policy.
make it harder to shoot and shooters will go away.
osa is the aust agent for rws stuff, and do not answer emails, which makes it hard when you need 9.3x64 brass which is only made by rws.
bruce.

just took delivery of 50 swift 286 gn aframes from sara store, ordered through beretta aust.
there are another 50 in customs through brownells.
customs takes ages, obvious govt policy to make it harder for firearms industry and shooters in the hope that some will go away.
so we can get swift bullets here from at least 2 sources.
now we just have to source 9.3x64 brass from rws!!!!.
order that one a really log time in advance.

Dropped into the gun shop I stop at sometimes and they have a small selection of swift projectiles, I only looked at .308 and .375 but they had others also, I will have a look again in 3-4 weeks when I travel back through.
I'm in Qld

Last time i ordered through brownells they said delivery would be 10 days. Ended up 2 months.

I generally run barnes but I've had to change because raytrade have had trouble getting them in. Waited 4 months through my local shop before cancelling.

swift have an agent in oz now.
your gunshop can order them from there.

It must be nice to have plenty of money mate. I was after some swift Aframe 280 grainers for my 444 marlin. Shooters wholesale warehouse in Mitchell ACT, and ten years ago they wanted $121 for 50. Told them I only wanted projectiles not shares in the company. Settled on Woodleigh RNSP.
Cheers mate Bob

Hey Bruce, Do you know where I can get 250gn A-frame 35 cal projectiles.
I have tried a number of LGS but no luck. Brownells are no back order as well.

If you can't find them in Aus. Reloading International is the easiest US source. If you have to wait, you have to wait.(y)

Any case capacity advantage of one or the other in Swift A-Frame versus Woodleigh RNSN in 500 grain for .458WM?

Don't know for sure Ben, but given the amount of jacket material in an A-Frame, particularly those 9.3 and up, my guess would be more case capacity with the Woody.

my last 9.3 swifts were about $3.00 per projectile.
for actual big game hunting I believe them to be cheap.
I also believe them to be better than Woodleigh when the going gets tough.
they are also more versatile, opening fast on less resistance.
if I wanted good cup and core I might well chase norma bonded bullets in preference to Woodleigh.
for practice, there are of course cheaper bullets.
SARA store got me some swift.

Thanks Newby, They do not list swift in 35 cal though.

I have found SARA store to be good. They don’t stock an extensive inventory but happy to order for you. They have shifted to a new premises so they may keep more retail stock, let’s hope.
I travel a lot and lurk in Gunshop’s. Not many keep much in the way of big bore projectiles unless they are in the right area or have regulars requiring them.
Actually I have also ordered through the Queensland rifle association to ahh Qstore that’s it.
Refine your google searches and scour the country there might be some in a store somewhere.
Check every gunshop you go past if you know the pricing you might sometimes find old stock on old pricing. Who knows what’s round the corner with supply lines..

When I figure out our supply lines I’ll order some more from you!
@blacks I had not heard of Atomic29 before but I have used Woodleigh and support Australian made if the product fits.
I don’t use Facebook but found the page with Atomic29.
I read the .358 Mitchell article in Sporting Shooter.

Would it help to start an Atomic29 profile here?

I have used Woodleigh and Outer edge to but I am interested in getting some mono metal .375s for testing.
For everyone else reading, Woodleigh have been great as far as technical enquiries and the results are often seen here. Proven.

I think we will get some feedback on Outer edge of this comment too.

My son use Outer edge projectiles on his zebra and a Springbok. He used a 308 Howa loaded with 140grain outer edge and their middle load and recommended overall length. Very accurate half inch groups at 100 yards and a chronoed muzzle velocity of 2,880fps his first shot on the Springbok just destroyed the internals but it was still standing so he shot it again. All over red rover.
His zebra was at around 150 yards nicely side on. The bullet hit just above the last chevron on the front leg. It was visibly shaken and did a 30 or 40 yard dash and stopped. My son put another one into the same spot and down it went.
Even with a bullet that only weight 140 grains it was a complete penetration with both bullets leaving a good half inch hole one the other side. We had to put a couple of sticks in the holes to stop it leaking while we took the photos.
At the skinning shed it was hard to tell the difference in damages done to another zebra shot with a 300 win mag and 200 odd grain ELDXs.
Both the outer edge and the ELDX did similar amounts of damage despite the velocity difference.
My vote goes to the OUTER EDGE.
Cheers Chris
Bob
