Best Gun Safe to buy?

I have a Liberty Fatboy JR and I have been very satisfied with it! It’s my second Liberty. I quickly outgrew the first one so like many people before me have said....by bigger!

Shop around and try to catch something on sale. Cannon, Liberty, etc. are all good. I would recommend getting a fire safe so you can store legal papers, etc. as well. I know there are biases for keys vs. combinations. In the end, a good price was what was important to me. I found a Browning on sale at Bass Pro. Rented a u-haul truck and they loaded it for me. My neighbor and I removed the door and then were able to get it into the closet. 1 story home! ;-)

Just be sure to buy bigger than you think you need!

Watch all the videos on YouTube about people cutting into them with a grinding wheel and you'll feel like most all of them aren't as secure as you think! The door and bolts mean nothing when the side of the safe is only 10 or 12 gauge metal.
I bought a Cannon from Tractor Supply last year and it was so heavy we couldn't get it in the house. So I decided to remove all the sheet rock from inside of the safe to lighten it up a bit. It's just stacked in place and lightly glued, so it's easy to get out and back in. Once I got it all out, the safe was nothing more than a very large filing cabinet! I could've probably moved it in the house myself! The sides were so flimsy that you could slap it with your hand and they would vibrate like sheet metal. Needless to say I took it back.
Moral of the story, do research and find one with the thickest metal possible in the sides, and body of the safe. Also bolt it down, and try to put it in a place that's hard to access with a grinder or pry bar.

I have a Liberty Fatboy and have been happy with it. I'm sure there are others that are more secure against sophisticated thieves, but my primary goals a gun safe are 1) Keep items away from my kids, 2) Fire protection and 3) Storage. I talked to the fire chief in my town and he told me an average temperature of a house fire and the average time from a call to when a fire would be extinguished. Unfortunately, I don't remember the numbers, but the Liberty rating was very reasonable with that info. I may feel differently if I had a collection of Holland and Hollands or double rifles, but it makes sense with my fairly modest rifle collection.

I have a good friend who built his liberty presidential 50 into his game room wall and anchored it into the floor! I like this idea as all a thief can do is work on the door not the sides!

I would look at Zanotti Armor (https://zanottiarmor.com/) They are modular so you can break then down and move them. They can also fit in tight spaces a regular safe couldn't. They are made in America and are very high quality. I couldn't be happier with mine.
