Looking into one for my bow. Searched the forums and didn’t see much chatter about them.

Anyone here have one? If so, what are your thoughts on photo quality, depth of picture (look far away like a GoPro or “normal”), and how does it respond during a shot from
Bow?

If I get one, I plan to get the 2.0 bow package to start with.

Have not tried that but have tried a cell phone mount and a very small video cam and they both recoiled from the shot shot so much that unless you were zoomed way out you missed the shot.

I have one on my bow that I got this February shot it at the range seems like the turning on in slow motion, 5x etc would be easy enough to do but haven’t tried it Hunting yet. The zoom power would be better than a GoPro’s wide angle. In slow motion you can kind of follow the arrow but it is still some what to fast.
I have a bad habit of lowering my bow so I will have to work on that for shots more than 30.
Could go out to the range and try to get some clips.

I have 2 tacticams and I use them quite a bit. I’ve used them for hunting with a bow, crossbow, shotgun, and rifle. I love them. They work like a champ. I had aspirations of putting them on clients weapons to film with but seem to never get around to it. I don’t get to hunt for myself a whole lot so I haven’t gotten any footage recently but the first year or so I had them I filmed everything. I really need to start using them again as be able to play the shot Back can help me out a lot when trying to determine if an animals was hit well or not.
It’s great technology and they work really well. Even the microphone on them works pretty well.

Installing a Gopro on a bow is not a good idea. It has been tried many times and the results is not impressive. Look at the attach video. At 20ft you can hardly see the target, listen to the draw and release noise (at 1.01 min) very annoying and very loud. If you want some decent video footage your bow must be on target and follow your target all the time.

In this video the shooter had the cam on his head, a much more interactive recording and less noise, When shooting the camera angle goes haywire. Again the the distance to target is not great for a Gopro.

A better option is to install a video cam with a zoom function, This will be too bulky. The best is to get another person to video your hunting with a videocam for the longshots and use the Gopro only for closeup shots

I’ve also tried gopros and they do not work at all for capturing the shot. I have used them to get footage at a waterhole or feeder. Placing them on the ground or on a tree near where you think the animal will be standing works great for a different angle and cool footage but the lense is way to wide angles for mounting on a weapon.

Appreciate the feedback. Have you noticed a difference with camera mount versus your stabilizer?

Awesome! Appreciate the feedback. From bowhunting perspective, in your opinion, it’s a good buy?

The tactical imo is a great buy. The go pro not so much unless you are wanting to use it in conjunction with other equipment.
The bow stabilizer mount is what I use on my bow but I can say I prefer my stabilizer that is for the bow and mount the tacticam on the side. I use a big heavy and long stabilizer on my bow as I like the way it balances. The stabilizer mount for the camera is a short thing and doesn’t add much weight. That however is a matter of personal preference.

Good to know. I have a GoPro and have tried it on the bow. Didn’t care for the video or how it affected my shot (my opinion is it caused me to shoot high).

Mine is a 4 not sure what the upgrades were with the app it down loads and you can view on your phone.
