Favorite guns

Pre war model 70 in 300 H&H mag
.416 Rigby with Mannlicher style full length stock (never seen another one like it)
12 bore Westley Richards drop lock 2 barrel set (I don't know if I get to keep both sets of barrels in this scenario).

Such a hard question to answer... To much sentiment in some guns for sure, but thinking practically:
700 CDL in 300 win mag
Winchester 77 .22lr (I have the 15 round tube model)
Kimber Raptor 1911 with 3" barrel .45acp

This is provided I can still hunt turkeys with a bow so don't "need" a shotgun for that.

Ridiculous task to choose, but:
.22 Lr ( from my late uncle)
375H&H BRNO 602
458 Win Mag CZ 550

1) AR
2) Ruger American 22lr , Bolt Action
3) Winchester Model 94, 30-30, 70’s vintage - not a collectible, but a gift from my Dad

Refuse to make a choice on my handguns - I will keep them all!

Very difficult question as I’m sure everyone agrees. I have no passion for any of my guns, but cartridges I do like are:
1) 223 because I can load it to be a 22LR, 22 Win Mag or 223 mainly in my CZ452 Varmint
2) 30-06 because I can load it from a 30 carbine, 30-30, 308 up to a hot Superformance 30-06 primarily in my Remy Sportsman 78
3) 375 H&H because it is my Africa rifle and I have loads from 235 at 1,100fps for cheap practice up to 350 gr Northfork I’m currently working on in my MRC. (I would like Reedy’s Kimber though, but I’d prefer the 60” kudu I hope to get for the same price, so quit tempting me...someone buy it!)

Hard one for sure. Top few though-
A pair of flintlock rifles hand built my my one grandfather, 50 and 62 cal. A Remington 760 pump inherited from my other grandfather. My Winchester 69A .22 my dad got me for my 11th birthday. And finally my 870 he got me for Christmas at 13.

For me it is the rifles I get to use whenever I go out for a shot and that would be a super accurate custom Rem XR 100 I had done as a 20 VarTarg , my custom mini mauser wildcat 6.5 Grendel-Max, and the custom 1916 Erfurt SR 98 in 6.5x57. I stocked them all myself so have a great fondness for them as they are all very accurate and more than a little presentable in my eyes.
A 400 Lee Speed I built is also quite high on the favourite list as is a 303 Lee Speed.

I saw (and participated in) a thread a while back that asked for your three favorite rounds. I have a different question - what three guns from your current collection would you keep if you could only keep three

Here are mine

Mossberg .22 Semi-Auto
Winchester 94
Remington 870 (20 gauge)

:D Cheers:
BAH! This thread sucks. Whadaya mean just THREE? :heh:

Does this include shotguns? If so...

1. Remington 541s .22 LR (*my dads old .22 - 40 years old or more and still going strong.)
2. Browning Superlight Feather 20ga. straight-grip o/u (6# and just a delight in the field.)
3. Montana 1999 actioned .375 H&H. (20" bbl, topped with a Leica 2.5-10x42 #1 ret.)

If shotguns are not included...

1. Rem. 541s .22 LR
2. Merkel K1 7mm Rem Mag (Loop FX3 6x42 w/Ballistic Dot Ret.)
3. Montana 1999 in .375 H&H

Yeah, I could hunt the world over with that setup. BUT, if I had to sell off my, umm...collection I'd have quite a large spendable cash fund and my three gun collection might look like this:

1. Rem 541s.
2. Merkel K1 7mm RMag
3. Some stupidly nice Double with exceptional wood in 450/400 and an Elephant to go with it. Verney Carron...Searcy...MAYBE a full custom Merkel Safari... But .450/.400. Yeah, I think so.

We can open an new thread....

What thirty guns from your current collection would you keep if you could only keep thirty!

:D Cheers:

HWL

Wait! You mean I have to pare down to just THIRTY???

o_O

Man, that is painful! Only 3? Oh, well. # 1 all time favorite is my match grade M-1 Garand 30-06. #2, my Win model 70 Safari Express 375HH. #3, 1911 45acp. I just gotta sneak in my old Mossberg 22LR that was my Dad's.

Gents

mine would be:
Sako Vixen in .222
Tikka M55 in 25-08
Brno M21 7x57

but we have nothing in NZ that needs a DG rifle.

Mauser M03 in 375H&H
Beretta 486 Parallelo 12 ga
Ruger No1 in 270 Win

223
Rem 870 with two barrels
My 1949 Mod 70 in 375 HH

OH, and my RCBS Rockchucker press

Three?!? If I had to . . .

Savage Anschutz Model 164 in .22 Magnum - I have it zeroed at 50 yards and it puts Hornady 30 gr V-MAX inside a dime.
Nosler M48 Liberty in .270 Winchester - I love the .270 Win cartridge, and with Nosler 130 gr Accubonds this gun was perfect right out of the box.
CZ 550 with AHR #3 in .375 H&H - New addition this year - but I've put about 100 rounds through it in the past few months. It's an MOA gun at 200 yards with 300 gr Swift A-Frames.

Not much in the world I couldn't handle with those three weapons.

If i really, really had to I could make do with the following:
Browning T bolt .22 LR ( Belgian made, grade II)
Brno ZKK 601 30-06 ( Chris Griesbach custom)
Beretta SV10 Perennia I 12 ga 28" O/U
- but I wouldn't be happy about leaving so many other favourites behind!

3 are just not enough but if I have to.

9.3x74R/12ga or 7x65R/12ga combination. Either will do.
375 H&H Brno ZKK 602
500 JEFF Brno ZKK 602

DG makes up a lot of my hunting so I will keep my larger bores.

custom dixie firearms 475 linebaugh handgun, open sights.
scope sighted encore in 9.3x74r,single shot.
custom scope sighted ruger hawkeye in 223 cal.

M14 rifle
ZKK 602 .375H&H
Double rifle in .475NE or ZKK 602 in .500 Jeffery, tough choice...and 3 are just not enough..!

Krieghoff Double Classic Big Five 9,3x74R
Krieghoff Single shot Hubertus 6,5x57R
Ferlach Cape gun with hammers 9,3x72R
