Rifles & handguns you own and have owned

@CTDolan , the list of firearms I have owned would be too long, so I will just give you the numbers

25 Pistols
16 Revolvers
14 Rifles
7 Shotguns

Actually I just own two rifles.

Wow... I honestly am not sure I could list everything even if I tried..

Im currently sitting on about 50 firearms between mine and my wifes collection.. but.. over the years I have horse traded so much stuff, I dont think I could possibly remember them all.. my guess is the total number owned at one time or another is probably north of 250-300 though..

a few things I look back and regret ever letting go include

An all original, pristine condition Remington Rand 1911 built in either 1942 or 1943
An all original, pristine condition (unissued) M1 Carbine made by Singer Sewing Machine in WWII (unknown date)
A mid 1950's Ithaca Model 37
A mid 1930's Browning A5
An old, beater, horrible condition 6.5 carcano carbine.. no real material value.. but huge sentimental value.. it was my dads first "deer" rifle..
An old, beater, horrible condition stevens 12ga pump purchased new in 1967.. no real material value.. but huge sentimental value.. it was my dads first "hunting" shotgun..

Pretty much everything else that has come and gone over the years could easily be bought again if I would put the time in to search, and wanted to spend the money... most of the guns were "common".. rem 700's, AR15's, S&W revolvers, Glock pistols, etc..etc.. but those 6 in particular were all exquisitely built and were in phenomenal shape or should have ended up as family heirlooms.. and I either let someone else that wanted them even more than I did talk me out of them.. or I was just young and dumb and didnt appreciate what I actually had in the collection at the time...

I think I paid $100 for the 1911 at a gun show in Memphis in the early 90's... a guy was walking around with it in his hand wanting to offload it so that he could afford to buy one of those new fangled Gen 1 Glocks :)

Daisy BB gun
Hi-Point 9MM
Winchester 190
Remington 770
Nice! You are ready for just about anything buddy! Lol. If only you had one of those Colt Double Eagles or whatever their DA auto was!

Well I’m putting a lot of serious thought into my purchases. I’m on the fence right now over a Lorcin 380. It’s a good deal and they are cool looking but I wouldn’t want fellow members of this website to think I was a Fancy Dan.

.22 LR first-gen Colt Woodsman
.32 ACP Vz-50

.22 LR Henry AR7
.243 Win Mauser 98 sporter (sold)
7x57 mm Oviedo Mauser 93 sporter
.30 carbine Universal M1 carbine
.30-06 Springfield 1903 sporter
.30-06 Remington 742
.303 SMLE No. 4 Mk 1* sporter (sold)
8x56R mm Steyr Mannlicher M95/30

I like to buy really old guns and get them into hunting shape. I think I’m putting my gunsmith’s kid through college.

@CTDolan how do you like that Ruger M77 in 458 Lott? Did you add some weight to it? My 458 Lott in Ruger Model 1 kicks like a mule.
sure you can handle it charley, restocking the shelves at wal-mart keeps you in good shape im sure.

I don't reach near the lists of others here, but I've owned a few...

Savage 110 .243 - still have this one
Savage 110 .270
Savage 110 .30-06
Marlin 336 .30-30
Steyr Pro Hunter .270 - my current go to rifle

I'm looking to expand in the short-term. Definitely a .223 bolt action and probably a .300 WM to take with me to Africa.

We’ll add to this. I’ve got a Marlin M60 and a Winchester M67 that my grandfather left me that I need to put a refurbishing on. I’ve also got a CVA .50cal blackpowder rifle for our two-week deer muzzleloader season. And a Smith and Wesson M&P-15 in (of course) 5.56mm.

As for handguns, I’ve owned a couple but only currently own a Glock 17. I’ve also owned a Bersa in .380 ACP and a Diamondback DB9 in 9mm.

I have 53 in my private armory. A healthy balance between long guns and handguns. Too many to list here but I am professionally employed as a Fraud Investigator and former law enforcement. I see no down side in listing your firearms in a semi-open forum. The feds know what you have and if there are any thieves here trolling they are going to be met with heavy resistance at my place and I sm sure at your place as well. Most of mine consist of big bore handguns and rifles. I was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer so I am currently fighting for my life with a less than 50% chance to survive the upcoming major surgery which carries life long side effects which will undoubtedly keep me from firing any of my firearms. So I am in a state of shock because I was a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder, who did not drink alcohol, smoke or have Gerd or acid reflux. I had the energy levels of a teenager and the body of a 30 year old. The doctors said I was unlucky.

After 5 intensive chemotherapy and radiation sessions, I have lost more than 30 pounds of my precious muscle that took me 43 years to build. I am 56 years old. I now feel like I have the energy level and body of an 80+ year old man.

Enjoy the journey and your growing collection of firearms . Over the next couple of days I will take the time to list my inventory out for you.
I am sorry to hear that. I hope things work out for you.

It might scare me to see a list of all the ones I have had over the years - and let go.

I never sold even one.....because I fear what you feel....

HWL

I started out my career with an m-14 that had a selector, progressed through an M1 and a BAR and then the notorious M16. then onto an M60, a 3.5" rocket launcher and an M79 thumper. For a while there was an M109SP 155mm and an M2 50 cal. I no longer have any of them, all I get is a "thank you for your service". I'd give all those thank yous for any one of the above.

Second that. Give me back my beloved M-60.

The best insurance is a 1,000 pound safe like you have. My safe is fire proof as well. Insurance companies simply can't be depended on; by the time you get through deductibles and limits of coverage you end up getting 10 cents on the dollar. The best investment is a good heavy fireproof safe. It took four people to get mine from the truck to my reloading room. Now that it's full of firearms and ammo, nobody is going to be able to move it.

Likewise. Just be sure to bolt it to the floor or a wall. I read somewhere that some enterprising tangoes used a bunch of golf balls roll a heavy safe away.

I'm curious as to why that would be stupid. Is it fear of the government? If you've purchased a firearm from a retailer in the last 20 years, you're already on the list.

Hell, just being a member here put you on the list. Sorry, ct Dolan, I'm just curious.
Having worked in my friends shop over the years, I can tell you, there is no list. The 4473 form you fill out, is kept at the dealer, and can be destroyed after 20 years. Here in Virginia, the State Police form, only tells them Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol, or Revolver. There is no gun registration, not yet anyway.

The only time the feds get the 4473, is if a gun is found at a crime scene. Then they call the manufacturer, manufacturer tells them what distributor got that particular firearm. Distributor tells what dealer it went to. Ive answered a many of those calls pertaining to Hi-Point and Jimenez pistols. They call, give you the firearm info, and sometimes brief info about the person. You search the 4473 forms, find it, and calls them back. You tell them everything they want to know. We would always write "atf trace 10/10/2005" or whatever in the corner, and tag that paper in case they wanted copies.

dear ct dolan
anyone who answer your post listing all the firearms they own or have owned in a public forum WOULD BE PURE STUPID!
good luck to you
I hear ya. The governments just keep scanning the internet to find out what firearms people own. And folks listing what they own is like saying: I’ll make it easier for you to disarm me.

When I read comments like yours the word naive comes to mind. Lol
