Vaccinations

Many years ago my uncle contracted Malaria during the Korean War while stationed in a foreign country called Washington DC. You can get Malaria anywhere.

When I went to work in Angola about 16 years ago, I had to get 7 shots: 4 in one arm and 3 in the other. After getting them, they made me sit around for 30 minutes to make sure I didn't have an adverse reaction. The Twinrix required two more shots, one at one month and the other at six months.
 
When it comes time to get that number of shots at one time I will gladly bare my rear and let them have at it.
 
No I'm down closer to east london. I believe about 2 hours north of east London.

Nothing but a current Tetanus. EC has no malaria!

Not at all an attack on you, but the information on that website is pure bollocks.

The CDC has a well documented table of Yellow Fever incidence, and Neither SA or any of our neighbors are affected.

It is also worthy to note that the YF vacine is contraindicated in the age group above 60 years, based on the risk: benefit ratio for severe side effects increasing in the eldery immune system.

Regarding the Eastern Cape, no need for malaria meds, and Tetanus, Hep A&B, and Rabies should suffice.

Doxy is a good drug, but can mask the symptoms of Tick bite fever early on. It can cause sun sensitivity to people with a light skin, especially not used to the African sun, so if you take it make sure to try a test dose before hand, and use good sun protection over here.
 
Traveled to Namibia twice and RSA twice and have never bothered with shots or pills.
