No more Yeti's for me

Yup. And not the least bit surprising.

Kinda like finding out Iran's been cheating...

I always wanted to throw Mary Ann over my shoulder, and carry her off to the other side of the island.
I always wanted to bend Mary Ann over, uh I mean throw, throw Mary Ann over my shoulder too!

Just got this from Springfield Armory! YES!
They truly are DICKS!

GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) – Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.

This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.

It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

Ginger started strong... but didn’t hold up too well to the test of time

Mary Ann on the other hand kept things together over the years...

I finally figured it out, Ginger now looks like Steve Buscemi in drag.

It appears that Yeti was bought by a bunch of New Yorkers, that explains everything.

I have already sent them an e-mail, I expect the typical corporate BS answer.

In other news, they might want to wait on the IPO they are planning. I know I will not be buying one share.
Not all New Yorkers are from the city or are bad. I and my friends and family will refuse to buy Yeti products anymore as well.

I'm a life member of the NRA and I buy yetis coolers and will continue to do so. Yeti builds the best cooler on the market, when someone makes one better I'll buy that one. BUT............ thats beside the point, what is my major concern is that the NRA is using weight and too quick to act support base to strong arm Yeti into still giving them coolers. Yeti isn't anti gun or hunting, except in the info the NRA has sent out.

It's total BS that the NRA is using strong arm tactics to force anyone to do business with them.

Frigid Rigid is a much better product than Yeti imo, and contrary to popular beliefs, the inventor of this class of cooler. They’re not cheap but are built in the US.

Here is a better (and much less expensive) cooler than Yeti, https://www.piercearrowinc.com/pierce-coolers.

As for the NRA trying to force Yeti to do business with them , I disagree. I think they are simply trying to make people aware of yet another company taking a stance on 2nd. amendment issues.

Personally, were I in such a position I'd drop the NRA, also. They're doing more harm than good in my opinion and, when the pendulum swings the other way (and it will), it's going to swing hard. By the way, Trump isn't helping any, either. 2018 could be a blood bath for the GOP, and 2020 even worse. Then, let's see what the NRA does when they've lost all power because they have alienated a massive portion of the general population with their rhetoric and tactics, and their puppets no longer hold a majority in Washington.

When I was young the NRA was more geared toward sportsmen (and women). Today, it's completely in the pockets of the manufacturing sector, pushing black crap left and right. There has been a sea change in the culture and the average person looking in from the outside only sees one thing, and they don't like it one bit (misinterpretation of the Second Amendment doesn't help any, either...people aren't ignorant, they can read, they can research the history, they can come to understand its reason for being, America not having had a standing army at the time and all).

In brief, provided enough force, when something refuses to bend it will break. It's as simple as that.
Do you realize that all the people on this web site are gun owners ? Though I think the NRA could/should be more aggressive on gun rights, they really are "big dog" when it comes to Washington representation.
There is no talking to Tide pod chewing millennials. Ill informed school children do not direct national debate. And those from Florida with a mother who works for CNN with an agenda are not bargained with. We do not, should not compromise. I don't own a black gun because I currently live under the rule of Comrade Cuomo. But I support everybody who does own one, hence, no more patronage at Dick's/ Field & Stream.

You come come across with a lot of venom for the NRA, but who's there to replace them, to represent gun owners ? I belong to many organizations, but none have the impact of the NRA. I wish they did.
Need I remind you that other people in other countries envy the United States because of the 2nd amendment? Funny note is that in Russia, they are trying to form an NRA.
There is, many times, contention with any organization. Not everyone is happy with every decision. From what I hear, the salary given to someone in the NRA is one million a year. To me, that's outrageous, but that's my opinion.

Be thankful for the NRA. Despite some of the questionable aspects of the NRA, they are one of our last line of defense's, to having the jackboot thugs...aka....Democrats ...heels placed firmly on the neck of our 2nd amendment rights.

The NRA generates more donations, then the top 3 anti-gun organizations combined. If that ever shifts the other way, things could get ugly in a hurry.

@BobT we can agree to disagree, but the the NRA took a very hard line on the yeti cooler situation. But has not taken the same hard stance on other "non-donor" manufacturers and service providers, retailers etc. After 15 years and millions given to the NRA by yeti, it seems like a pretty poor way to wrap up a relationship.

I'm sure the pierce coolers are great coolers BTW.

NRA didn't end the relationship with Yeti by "taking a hard line"- whatever that is!! Yeti chose to takes sides and join all the other anti-gun/anti-NRA wing nuts trying to ride the political wave against the NRA and guns. NRA reacted correctly. Simple as that!

Sorry but your post is BS.
Yeti is not the best. My son-in-law has Yeti. He told me to get RTIC because they have features that are better than Yeti. It does not hurt that they are also cheaper. We took same advertised size cooler(the RTIC actually holds more) hunting for 4 days. They were side by side next to my trailer and at the end of 4 days both were good. Maybe you should look at the RTIC since you state you will buy a different brand if it is better. :)

Yeti now has new management(located in New York) that is anti-gun. That is a fact. They are the ones who dropped the NRA and all its members.

The NRA has responded properly and am very glad that they informed us about the turn around position of Yeti. They did not "strong arm" Yeti at all. Yeti gave the NRA, all gun people and hunters the finger yet think we should all keep supporting them and their overpriced products.

My son-in-law, my daughter and my self are all NRA life members and my brother is one step above that(I forget what that is called) if that matters.

Support Yeti and not the NRA if you want but you are misinformed about all of this. You are also wrong. Have a nice day

@Divernhunter calling my post BS because I prefer one brand over another is silly. I own several Rtic coolers and I'm just not that impressed with them. but that's my personal preference.

But the threads not really about which cooler is the best. Its about yeti and the NRA, the cortec company is a private investment company, based in NY, NY,and owns a 2/3 stake in the company. Private equity firm investing for growth capitol is a move many companies make. But the headquarters is still in Austin Texas and still run by the Seider brothers.

"Yeti not only ended their program with the NRA-Foundation but also other organizations as well", that is from the NRA press release. An NRA statement also says “YETI has declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities.” I feel that is a ridiculous statement and was designed and distributed to hurt their business. Because a business decides to end a promotional deal with an entity like the NRA is probably more of a financial move than a political statement. Yeti is run by two smart guys who hunt and fish, they know their customer base, they also know the average homeowner going to the beach for a day is not spending $350 for a cooler. But hunters and fishermen do and turning your back on 80% of your business would be suicide. Looking at the situation it comes across to me like the NRA is pouting, but that's my opinion.

I Stopped donating hunts to several SCI, DU and CCA chapters this year, does that make me an anti hunter? It was based solely on financial reasons and the return on my investment in both time and money.

Well actually, YETI demanded that the NRA remove their (YETI) logo from any NRA materials and cancelled pending orders and stated they will not sell product to the NRA. That's different from just ending a discount deal with the NRA and make the NRA take a different discount deal. That was YETI spin. I personally hope they (YETI) hit the bankruptcy court so they serve as a poster child that business should not take side in politics.

I would agree that there are better cooler available for purchase. One can look at all the side-by-side testing. I own three YETI coolers, but will not be buying anymore YETI product.
