I am wanting to shoot all the legal zebras, but need some help finding places/lodges to hunt for the Grants, Chapmams, Selous, Crawshays. I have done a little research online, but most places don't let you know which subspecies of zebra is on their property.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Welcome to AH !

I´m sure the outfitters on the forum will answer your question.

Damn, I was hoping this was a post about a bunch of pesky zebras that somebody needed shot! Lol

Best I can offer is I can get you a Grant’s at my place and suggest RSA for Burchells. Namibia for Hartman’s as they’re cheaper there.
The real question is where you gunna find a quagga?:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Interesting topic! I have never heard of something like "Zebra slam" in trophy collection circles! Looking fwd for the forthcoming comments!

As far as I have read that one is endangered and can't be hunted. Please let me know if I am wrong. Someone has to have some answers I hope.

to my knowledge of where I have actually hunted there are Burchells in most of Southern Africa (I actually took my first one with Barry Burchell and his family is where the name comes from) Hartman’s or the mountain zebra is from Namibia, and there are Chapman’s in the Caprivi area. I believe Grants is from East Africa.
Neat subject and it would take a bit of research to really put it all together.

I am told I will have a slight chance at a Chapman's in Mozambique this September. Mokore Safaris Coutada 9

Here is a pic of the Burchell's I got in the Save with Mokore Safari's on the Mokore Ranch

I have an idea which countries each species can be hunted in. Problem is mos lodges don't break out the species and I'm a bit confused an permit costs in some of the northern more countries. Was hoping to see some pictures, names of outfitters and stories from people who have hunted them.

Another important thing would be to clearly identify each subspecies of zebra by visual contact. This could be tricky.

I’m fairly sure you can get a permit for one in Texas.
Yip I know I can. ;) When I get my zebra herd going I’ve seriously contemplated doing Grevys instead of Grants.

Enjoyed reading your post again. Believe this is the 3rd time. I am scheduled to hunt w/ Legadema in Sep. Really looking forward to it.
