Would you consider this rifle in the similar firepower of something like a .270 Winchester?

the 270 Win (6.8x64) is a larger cartridge and will give you more power. but the 6.5x55 cartridge is excellent for North American game and would also be suitable for most plains game.

the 6.5x55 is comparable to the 6.5 Creedmoor.
