Germany Hunting Pictures

Waidmannsheil.
Great success !
Do it so often until the Brexit is comming.
Who knows what the future brings.(y)
Difficulties to bring your gun to Germany and out to UK,no or ?
You like the Blaser success ?
Regards
Foxi

Hi Foxi,

Its an annual swap hunt I do with a friend over there, so I borrow his rifle as it means no hassle in flying one over.

The Blaser does the job, but if I was spending that money on a gun Id probably have something else unless it was for drived shooting.

Hope all is well?

the European cousin of the Northamerican Bison is the Wisent(Bison bonasus).
There is a small (not quite 20 heads) protected herd ,complete free roaming, in a part of Germany (at so called Redhair-mountains)

the problem is, as most resettled animals do,the don't won't to stay where they have to.
They don't want to eat what they should.

the damages could be heavy ,car accidents for example, the wood-farmers and others are shouting.

But we are paying so many bills, so I hope that these damages will be compensated generously and our free roaming Wisent herd is not a short experiment.
For me, as a passionated buffalo hunter and nature friend, "buffs", are always outstanding (y)

This is a great effort, and I hope future conservation success!
Also, what I have seen, Wisent is already possible to hunt in Poland, possibly some other countries.

These are great photos! Thank you for sharing!

Great photos Foxi. I hope the heard prospers and increase.

A strong boar in our concession.
He moves like a ghost.
Usually I only ever see his tracks
In Canda I knew a bear, who kept the whole outfit for years to fool.
This must be his cousin.

Regards from the cold and wintry Munich.

Patience my friend, you will get him...eventually !

You are right.Patience is the important thing.
We have closed snow cover (at this time ! almost end of March) ) and so
I sat up until one o'clock tonight,
then my eyes fell to me

How long have the Buffalo been free roaming?

I call them Bison. Yes, the Wisent.
That is an incredible effort being made.
Any time wildlife is set free there will be issues as people and animals adjust.
Keep us up to date on the project please.

Staffordsher bullterrier mix bit his owners dead.

The Stafford killed his two owners a week ago.
Now there was a petition from 280.000 people who wanted to prevent the dog from being killed and even tried to break into the shelter to free him.
Before the office in Hanover there were demonstrations as if they were political refugees. I am a dog man and I love them, led for decades hunting dogs ,was judge in various dogs examinations and have met some problem dogs.I can really say no matter who is to blame for this dilemma (mostly man), so an animal is a walking time bomb and belongs defused. Without if and but. Nobody will be able to approach this dog unbiased and that feels the animal. We have over 100,000 legal abortions in this country, no cock crows about it.
But woe betide a dangerous dog must be killed, then rages the animal protection mob. Sorry for OT, but I only want to show how stupid our affluent society in Germany becomes.

I read the dog story today, just can´t understand the values some people have.

And I am a dog man too, even had a Rottweiler as part of my family !

Catch in the mountains.jpg

Wintercatch of a mountainhunter.

For a few weeks,I made this picture on a hillside farm in the Tirolean mountains, above the Alpbachtal/Austria.
Foxes and marten are numerous there.
And they are big egg lover.
These prey helps the ground breeders there a lot.
Especially Auer- und Birkwild(dont know the Englisch designations, sorry)

Well done @Foxi with the predator control. Hope you get to see the rewards of more birds this season.
