It's a magnum of some sort you can fit 62.5 grains of powder in a 30-06

Yes.
I really love the caliber, but looking back I probably should have done the old standard win mag. Easy to get ammo anywhere. And as a reloader the shorter case is somewhat limiting.
That is one of the main reasons I tried the A-Frame. I have always shot Barnes and I still will, but the TSX is so long, to move up from the 165s I used last year in Limpopo to the 180gr I want to use on Eland and Zebra it sticks too deep into the case. Compresses the powder too much.
My hunting buddy has a Kimber as well in the Win Mag and it loads the 180 TSX fine.
But I am very happy with this load. Should do well for what I’m going after.

400gr Rhino Solid Shank
386gr remaining.
Slightly quartering away. Bullet nicked the bottom of the spine. Got caught by the thick neck skin on the opposite side.

Dropped on the spot.

Carcass weight 146.5kg

Blue Wildebeest. 160 meter 180gr Nosler Accubond @ 2680 f/s with a 30-06. Heart shot, both lungs and bullet found trapped between skin and rib. The bull ran about 30 m before expiring.

Why I stick with the Nosler AB’s. Saw a BWB cow this past hunting trip taking a Berger VLD on the chest, shot from a 300 WM and just trotted off to hide in the herd. Not even a limp, no blood ...We later found it again, using a vehilce and 3 spotters with bino’s. The only give away was a bit of blood in the one nostrel.
It was finally put down by the hunter. The original bullet exploded on the breast bone, damaging the brisket muscles and turned into powder. No damage to any vital organs. The shot was perfect, the bullet performance not so much.....

250 grs Woodleigh RNSN in cal 9,3x62 shot Norwegian moose thru the shoulder, found in the skin on opposite side, 35 yards. Vo 2530 fps

260 grs Nosler Accubond in 375 H&H Mag from a Oryx entering the shoulder found in the skin on the opposite side distance 90 yards, Vo 2840fps

185 grs Lapua Mega in 3006 Wildboar at 60 yards Vo 2600 fps

180 grs Rhino Solid schank in 3006 Blue wildebeast at 150 yards, shot thru the shoulder found in the skin on the opposite side Vo 2800 fps

270 grs Rhino Solid schank 375 H&H Mag from a Waterbuck shot at 120 yards, frontal shot found in the back leg Vo 2570 fps

270 grs Barnes TSX , 375 H&H Mag shot a Elan at 100 yards entering thru the shoulder and sat in the skin on the oposite side. Vo 2600 fps

180 grs Nosler Accubond in 3006 shot thru a Red stag at 75 Yards shot thru the shoulder, sat in the skin.
Vo 2800fps

180 grs Rhino Solid schank, 3006, Zebra shot thru the shoulder at 40 yards
Vo 2800 fps
