Had to attend to a PAC problem Elephant last night , left Bulawayo at around 4:30pm and at 8pm we were already done.. Elephants have been decimating the crops , have been for weeks now and will continue to do so until nothing is left . Fortunately as it happened there was a young learner guide looking for extra experience for his log book and to achieving his goal at being a proficient guide and these opportunities help our upcoming PH’s and guides in our industry. The villagers were happy and even though we could have taken another bull , I declined as I have a hunt starting on Monday .

Was it shot in the dark! If so, that must have been exciting for a first time PH, or anyone!

Yes last night at 8pm at about 25 yards . Must have been at least 10 bulls in the field and although there were some bigger bulls we selected this one which was broadside and to the side of the rest of the herd .

These hunts are very exciting and it doesn’t matter how many I have done it’s still exciting so for a young man who hasn’t done many it certainly is a adrenaline boost I am sure .

Congrats to the hunter!

Wow. Sounds like fun, dangerous but a definite adrenaline rush!

As far as exciting goes, here is how I sum up an elephant hunt at night.

It's just normal spot and stalk, but in the pitch black of night, for an elephant that you can hear but can't see. :A Banana Sad:

Now Royal you thoroughly enjoyed that experience .

Congratulations to your "Learner" and you for taking him out.
Obviously, he shot straight.
I hope the community enjoys the meat.

Took this bull on the 1st morning before midday after quite an intense stalk / tracking deal in super dense thick brush with Elephant all over the place .. for sure the adrenaline was flowing at times

Well done.
