How you seem to let him off the hook regarding his bankruptcy where he screwed his investors is beyond me....ah to each his own I guess. Maybe if he's reading here (there is a New Member) you'll get a signed book or a used T-Shirt out of it.

Yeah, maybe and maybe not. Regardless, I was apologizing because in looking back I believe I could have been a bit more diplomatic, a bit less abrasive and certainly in posession of a few more pieces of information. You have to register for that, and I have no desire to snoop in to other peoples personal finances just to bash him on a forum. However the earliest date listed on Open Pubic Records is 2015. Still doesn't matter, I don't go through your browser history and list what type of porn you look at. People should worry more about themselves, then other people finances.

Hello Ida Ram! Thank you for your response! NO, I did NOT address the above to you so sorry for that. NO APOLOGY is NECESSARY and I totally understand where you were coming from and I appreciate you being a gentleman with me here.

Glad to see that you and a few others here are smart enough to be open minded enough to try and see the big picture when it comes to things like this in life.

As I said before, I don't know first hand about all of these allegations but I do believe the adage "When there's smoke there's fire" and if even a few of them are true then he's not the guy we all assumed that he was.
What we DO KNOW is that he DID file Bankruptcy and his investors suffered a loss. That said, many businesses do file for business reasons and Loopholes but what bothers me is that he just kept on hunting....where did he get $100,000 for a Markhor shortly before or after filing? That alone doesn't bother some people here?? I bet that it would if they were on the losing end.
Then all at the same time he's soliciting "Donations" for a personal issue...the shooting of his daughters tracker.

One guy even asks if I'm "jealous!" Jealous isn't the right word but in full disclosure, who wouldn't want to have done in life what Boddington has done? Would I essentially steal from investors to do it...absolutely NOT.

You seem to think that I am attacking him. I am not. I could care less how he makes his living. I would not want to be any age and have to file Chapter 7 and start over in life. But bankruptcy is set up that way to give folks a fresh start, is it fair to the creditors - NO.

We are all flawed. When you are a public figure, you open your flaws to the public for all to see. Has he made some mis-steps it sure looks like it. Folks are just questioning how he can make the claim that he's never taken a "free" hunt, when he claims he's just a gun writer and one that filed Chapter 7.

However, I am smart enough to know that you look at porn in "Private Mode" so it does not show up in your browser history at least without a warrant.

If you state that "you have never taken a free hunt" and you pay $1 for it that doesn't make you a liar. It makes you a shrewd negotiator. Offers and deals are made all the time for T.V. shows and articles, just not to me. Not a fan of the courts ability to let people out of debt, but not the subject here either. Can we get back to the subject of Q&A 's about actual hunting and trips? Thanks

Look, I get his popularity. He can write, and he can produce unbelievable amounts of copy. He has vast hunting experience. More power to him. But I am a little perplexed that the industry is apparently totally forgiving of a legal/financial ploy which harms other members of the industry (some without the fiscal resources to easily withstand it). Perhaps he is at the point in popularity where he is too big to be allowed to fail? It is just unfortunate that struggling members of the industry are left in the dust as he moves on to his next book signing.

And Brickburn, your shape changing avatars are starting to concern me. I assume the Three Faces of Eve was required reading in your field?

As we discussed he can produce large amounts of copy, just not very good copy. Hemingway he is not. Although in another forum one poster said that his book Safari Rifles (the first one) was good. I take his word for it, since I have not read it, but what have read I have not been impressed it.

I have kind of bit by tongue and I have never met him. But does anyone else see the irony of him offering safari education classes given what happen with his daughter and her leopard hunt. I realize it is out of his hands and he was not responsible but still seems a bit odd to me.

This is also like Tim Herald offering hosted Cape Buffalo hunts. Some things just make me ponder.

I get the thought behind the question. No one should get a pass on misrepresentations or false advertising. Without evidence of such a thing, it seems like a fishing expedition with a motive to go on a witch hunt.
There’s also the question of discounts. How many of us have received discounts or free travel days from an outfitter? How about free animals? I’m no celeb and I’ve only been to Africa twice, but I have received all of the above. I have been grateful to the outfitter and I have said nice things about the outfit I have gone with. Because they have deserved it.
Just my two bits and not trying to start a fight. Just some things to consider...
