Has anyone here ever used him or know of anyone that Has? I am waiting on a couple of quotes from the state' but I am also looking at S.A. taxidermist. I'e been in touch with capricorn bullseye and Joe regal. I like Joe the best out of the do it African taxidermst and was wondering if any if y'll have used him.

Bring it home.....No matter who you use it's most likely better than anyone in SA. Much heated and argued debate here. I had work done their once..And only once

Looks ok to me. At least on the picture.
Was measured to 30"
Hope the rest will be ok too!
Our PH said this taxidermist is ok.

Hate to be this guy but the eye position is a critical detail. These eyes are wrong

This seems to be a common occurrence with this taxidermist, getting the eyes wrong, position and even color. :A Banana Sad:

I'm with JB, bring it back. You will be happier in the end and likely won't spend anymore money after the shipping savings by having it done here.

I agree the eyes didn't look right it looked like he was sleepy.. but I think it could be worse

I may be to optimistic here but maybe he wasn't completed with that mount and sent a progress pic?

As Johnnyblues said this has been a much heated and argued debate. I have used one you mentioned above in 2017 - Capricorn, and will be happy to share with you all my photos and actual costs so you can use this in your decision making process. I also had gun, pistol and bow cases made as well as a wooden base. PM sent.

That mount is done, it's nose it painted so it's finished. I'm not going to sit here and knock a piece of work by another taxidermist I'll show a live waterbuck and try to educate some. Taxidermy should look like areal animal not what you think they should look like. and Yes Waterbuck to have yellow eyes but not that yellow, "Dark deep gold" would be correct in my opinion but everyone sees what they wan to see in anything. Ask people who witness a car crash you'll get a different story from everyone. I flipped the original to be more like the live pics posted here and one of my mounts that I create that I feel looks about as realistic as I can get my waterbuck mounts. Here goes, this is an educational thread to know what you should look for when you really look at a mount., Someone mentioned ear problems, Yes ears are connected to an animals skull, not it's neck. Taxidermy is art and it's beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but proper anatomy is crucial to making a realistic piece.
Hunters pictures of there taxidermy are like showing off your baby/grandbaby pictures, they are all beautiful right....:E Celebrate:
