We are trying to finish up our last remaining quota that’s unsold from the Show season, and would like to offer these 2 EXPORTABLE elephant hunts (both over 14 hunting days and 2 travel days):

Hunt 1:

Hunt one exportable elephant and one non-exportable elephant in Sobbe conservancy for US$ 45 000. This hunt is for 2 hunters or one hunter and one observer. Normal price is US$ 59 500. The hunts will be guided by either myself, or Fred Bezuidenhout. A 50% deposit secures hunt, and the rest payable in transfer, cash or credit card at the end of the hunt.

The hunt will be out of our Sobbe camp, which has recently been revamped. This hunt can be taken either 11 June to 1 July or 16-30 November 2018.

This area consists mostly of mixed Terminalia and camelthorn bush, with a section in the southern end of the area that’s mostly mopane trees. For the trophy bull, one can expect a bull in the 40 to 50 pounds class. For the non-export elephant, we try and shoot a broken tusked or genetically weak bull, or dry cow.

Hunt 2:

Hunt one exportable elephant bull in Sikunga conservancy and one buffalo (or hippo while quota lasts) in a nearby conservancy for US$ 49 500. This hunt is for 2 hunters or one hunter and one observer. Normal price is US$ 59 500. If the hunter just wants to hunt a trophy elephant, price will be US$ 42 000 all inclusive.

The hunts will be guided by either myself, or Fred Bezuidenhout. A 50% deposit secures hunt, and the rest payable in transfer, cash or credit card at the end of the hunt.

The hunt will be out of our Sikunga camp, which is on the banks of the Zambezi river.

This hunt can be taken between end July and beginning of November 2018.

The area consists 60% of mixed Terminalia and 40% floodplains with huge tree islands. Expect a bull in the 40 to 50 pounds class. Very little plains game available on this area, but if need be can move to Sobbe or other area to do some plains game hunting after elephant is down. Hippo will likely be hunted in the Zambezi.

All these elephant hunts are track and stalk hunts, and can only be done with a rifle of 9.3 and up (around 3 950 ft. Lbs energy is the minimum).

Limited other game may also be available to add at trophy fees only. They include (while quota is available):

Hippo (one left) $ 5000

Buffalo (likely in other area) $ 7500

Eland $ 2500

Kudu $ 1750

Zebra $ 1500

Impala $ 700

Warthog $ 400

Duiker $ 250

To add an extra observer for the full 14 hunting days and 2 travel days, add US$ 2 800.

To add a cameraman to film your hunt, add US$ 4000 for the full period, including editing.

To add fishing at the end of your safari: Free

Pick up and drop off point is either Katima Mulilo (Mpacha airport has 4 flights a week coming in from Windhoek), or Kasane (Botswana, which is serviced daily from Johannesburg). If a hunter comes via Kasane, we will need his gun paperwork no later than 7 days before he/ she arrives. If a hunter wants to borrow one of our guns, we will have the following available:

.375 H&H CZ550 with synthetic stock and 1.5-6x 43 Schmidt und Bender on.

.416 Rem mag Mod 70 Winchester with 1-4x24 Swarovski

.404 Jeff (Mauser M98) open sights

.450 Rigby (M98 Magnum) with open sights

.500 NE Verney Carron with a Doctor Optic red dot or open sights

(All available free of charge provided that if you break it you buy it…)

If I left out any details, or if you would like to discuss anything more about this option, please contact myself (Karl Stumpfe) on karl@huntingsafaris.net or Colleen on admin@huntingsafaris.net .

Not to be a bearer of bad news, but there is some thought now that USFWS is not issuing any permits for elephants from any country at this point. This was in a thread one or two days ago. @Royal27 jump in here and comment if you read the thread I am referring to.

Unconfirmed speculation based on the removal of all elephant import information from USFWS website. I have no actual knowledge that Nambian permits would not be issued.

If will be interesting to see where this goes based on Trump's recent action on potential ivory imports.

Just to clear up the export issue. I have spoken to 2 of the shipping agents in Windhoek, who in turn spoke to our local MET guys (like the local Namibian version of the US Fish and Wildlife, Ministry of Environment and Tourism).

There is NO OFFICIAL ban on importation of Namibian elephant trophies to the USA.
At the moment, it is a rumor started after Pres. Trump reversed the decision to reopen imports from Zim and Zambia.

So, in light of this, I am willing to offer the advertised trophy hunts above to US hunters under the following conditions:
Any of these 2 elephant trophy hunts (Sobbe or Sikunga) at US$ 22 000 deposit, and another $ 20 000 as soon as your import permit is issued, or the US Fish and Wildlife makes an official statement that Namibian elephant trophies can be imported.
Please note, this is only for one elephant trophy per area only, not the added extras as in above offers. If a hunter wants the non export elephant or buffalo or hippo with, it will have to stay on the above offers.
I would expect a hunter to apply for his import permit no later than 10 days after his hunt, or even before he leaves the US.

Can’t beat that deal also to add my take on this if it is worth anything I hunted with Karl and just got my elephant back in the states in January. I personally believe as karl that they will allow cities permits to be issued again. The USFW website may be down now but if you look it is down and unable to do any permits not just elephant all cities permits. My guess is they are just adding or changing the form. I do believe now is the time if you plan to hunt one and bring it back to the states. If I had the funds and was not booked up until 2020 I would be jumping on this deal
