I understand how you can become attached to something that just fits and works!
Circa 1900 Parker 20 on 28 frame that I grew up shooting. It was refurbed and works:

It's replacement for regular use:


Winchester 1892 .357 magnum made before 1910- last of serial number worn off:
As purchased and used back around 1970 - looks new now with the wood cleaned up:


Grandson shooting my Winchester .22 that I bought when 17 years old:

We celebrated her 130th birthday with a trip afield in honor of Mr Swenburne. I think he would be pleased :)

Thank you @crs :) It is beautifully balanced and an absolute joy to shoot. When I got it, it was partially refurbished. Unfortunately some of the “polishing” was a bit heavy handed and required some “undoing”, but it turned out pretty well in the end. Due to the work already done on it I ended up cold rust bluing everything, although I believe the hammers, side plates, receiver and underlever were probably color case hardened originally. Fortunately nobody seems to have monkeyed with the locks and it is nice and tight and square on face.

Nice old rifles glad they still see use.

1885 lowall built in 1891. Original flat spring. New wood, original half round half octagonal barrel sleeved to 22K Hornet. Sees regular use on small game and wild dogs.
