Hello,

I just signed up in order to learn, prepare, and plan for a safari to Africa. I look forward to learning as much as I can and getting to know the folks on here. It’s a dream to hunt in Africa some day. It’s something I have to work towards, I’m a high school teacher, married with two little girls. Only in the last four years have I begun my hunting journey but it has been wonderful. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and I pray to learn from y’all.

Y'all have been great. Thank you for the welcomes, it's great to a part of this website. Is there any specific topic I should start looking into to prepare for a African Hunt? I would like to start with plains game, I'm use to Whitetail Deer and Fallow Deer hunting. I use a CZ 550 Sporter in 30-06 for most of my hunting but I do have other rifles. Thanks again for all the help.
 
Your 30/06 will be fine for plainsgame, my father used his twice in Africa and was very successful.

Thank you, I hope to teach them. My 3 year old loves to watch Hunting shows on TV, we keep a trail camera in my wooded back yard. We check it to see the deer visiting, it thrills her little heart.

Welcome! I have 4 daughters and the youngest is the most serious about hunting. Take your kids hunting and you'll never have to go hunting for your kids (saying from a Namibian outfitter I hunted with).
