Trump slams elephant hunting..(!)

I got my elephant during the ban. It was an awesome hunt and I would do it again. Honestly even if legal I probably wouldn't import due to the amount of paperwork and hassle.

An importation ban shouldn't impact someone's desire to hunt. Hell the ban made it affordable.

I'm with @Royal27 ,

I think I'll be going after jumbo sooner than later regardless of import ban. If anything I'll get a better deal!

That's the sad thing really.... Elephants lose and we win (personally).

When the ban lifted I had the thought that elephant hunting was likely a one and done for me, but now that importation is banned again it may not be. Time will tell.

Me think you people have some lame excuses on behalf of your (beloved) President..

Nothing wrong with non-trophy hunting....done it frequently, but the affluent, who made this industry ticking demand their trinkets, like it or not. I enjoy the hunt itself immensely but a permanent ban is in my opinion the road to peridition ie the antis will gain support and the whole thing will dwindle down to nothing and the poaching will increase....Kenya revisited.

What will be banned next..??

While I will be disappointed if the ban remains in place, would you have preferred we voted for Hillary? As far as blaming Trump for anything that Europe decides to do, are the Europeans really so easily controlled? Do they not think for themselves and take responsibility for their own decisions?

You know perfectly well that this is one major signal to the rest of the world....do not pretend otherwise. You people toted during the election process that Trump would be the Guardian of hunting....yeah right...

I urge you to make DSC and SCI to try to turn this...otherwise the elephant will be the loser..

Because that is what the American people had in mind when they cast their ballots.....hunting. Forget about what he will do for the USA, reverse the damage done from the previous 8 years, push the stock markets to record highs, cut unemployment, start looking after veterans etc etc etc.

This wasn't the first time that the U.S. has gone above and beyond CITES while the "rest" of the world did not. If wherever you're from, I believe Norway, decides to cut off imports because the U.S. did, then you have pathetic leadership. Don't blame us for that.

America has become corrupted in the last few years. People that think critically and don't drink the media koolaid understand this. They may not be able to identify specific things or the amount of the corruption, but they comprehend and understand that it is there. A Hillary presidency would have continued this corruption.

This corruption is slowly being exposed over the past few months. More will be exposed in the next few months. America and the world will see the corruption and be revolted. Sunlight is a great disinfector.

Our Republic stood on the fulcrum in 2016. The 2016 election determined if the rule of law would reign or if the Republic would fall apart. (If you think I am being over dramatic, wait to see what is about to come out)

Somethings are much more important than ivory importation.

No I would not have preferred Hilda, but that is not the point here. She lost and Trump became POS. Now Trump has gone anti in a populistic way...and that is very dissapointing since he is a republican President.

I'm glad to have been straightened out on all that so I can adjust my priorities and focus on a single issue in the voting booth the next time around.

Just because of his stance, does not make him a bad President. He has done a hell of a job for your country thus far. Before you start shouting about how this will change your vote at the next election, just be still for a while and think about your response. When you sat in the voting booth making your mark, was your first though that you are voting for Trump, hoping he would reopen Elephant hunting, or was your thought that he was the guy that was going to make the USA the power it use to be.
