Who is going where in 2018 or hoping to make plans for 2018

January Kansas pheasant with a buddy that this will probably be his last hunt.
Will be trying to call in a cougar in Colorado during the winter season again. A bit spooky when you’re alone.
Winter coyote calling.
PawPrints in May for one of their good deals for sable for sure and who knows what else mother Africa will let me have.
Trout fishing in Colorado and Wyoming from my kayak during the summer months along with a Grey Reef float trip in Wyoming with a buddy.
July a grand family vacation like we use to do!
Fall, we’ll have to see what tags I draw.
Finally, I’m selling stuff and saving up in case one of those great late season Africa hunts comes up again (ele, Mr Spots? Who knows).

Your going to be a busy man.

Glad to see your going back to Paw print for a sable and a few others. I think there maybe a black wildebeest running around with your name on it.

You’re absolutely right Bill! A nice heavy bossed Black Wildebeest needs to go on my list with PawPrints!

Well I am hunting Gould's in Arizona in late April.

Then in August I am hunting a Sable with Tsala, and it was going to be a plains game only hunt, because I will have 4 new comers with me. I will have my dad, his hunting buddy, and two of my buddies from college who will all be on their first trip to Africa. I decided to make it interesting an hunt a Cape Buffalo. So it should be a fun trip with good friends and should have a little excitement in there as well.

Who knows what will happen in the fall hoping to draw a tag or something, if not I guess I will be stuck bow hunting in Virginia.

Pre-rut coues deer in Southern AZ for next Oct. or early November - depending on when I draw. Going to DSC specifically to look into a Mozambique swamp buffalo hunt in 2019 or possibly this summer.

I was hoping to make it back in 2018, but unexpected expenses (BIG unexpected expenses!!!), deaths in the family, and a family member with cancer and other issues will make it less probable. Will plan on 2019 now and hope that things will turn around this year for the better, since things have gotten a little worse every year since 2015.:(
Stay strong, positive and focussed - as there's always light at the end of a tunnel - and it WILL happen! (y)

Wow! Some great trips planned fellas - Spain, Africa, Bahamas, USA etc! I look forward to reading the reports that follow!

For myself, I'm taking my daughter to SA on a group hunt with Bill: her for PG and me for buffalo. Can't wait!!

YOWZA!! Some great trips planned. Wish all the best of luck and safety on your ventures.

South Africa for the first time in June/July with Thormahlen & Cochran. This will be a family trip with my parents (Jfet and Kfet), wife, and brother and his wife. It will be the wives' fist introduction to the Dark Continent, and will hopefully get them hooked so we can happily continue to return!

Heading to Mexico for 2 weeks at the end of Feb, to relax and fish, then in Sept, heading to Fort Nelson BC, for moose hunting. November going to Illinois to bow hunt the rut on our lease, and maybe if I can talk some buddies into a Canadian fly in fishing trip? So in Michigan we have a lot of good walleye fishing within an hour of my house, and we have many golf courses that I can fill my summer up with, Man I hate being retired!

This year will hopefully see two or three hunting trips and lots of local hunting if I can find the time off work. Spring bear hunting in Northern Ontario, July will be our sixth hunt with Marius @KMG Hunting Safaris , this time for spotted hyena. Early fall should see me in Saskatchewan and Alberta for pronghorn and mulies hopefully! Good luck to everyone this coming year!

My wife is headed back to SA in March. I MAY be going with her. I'm still not sure yet though. We have talked about having her father tag along instead of me on this trip. He has been an avid hunter his entire life and has never been on safari. I think it would be a great chance for them to do a once in a lifetime hunt together and get some quality time in before he reaches the point in life where something like this would be out of the question for him. If for some reason he cant/wont go, I'm sure I'll tag along and chase some plains game with her :)

We're also considering ducks in Peru in either May or June but havent booked anything yet.. we'd like to combine it with a hiking vacation at Machu Picchu.

Im sure we'll do all the other "normal" hunts in NA that we typically do as well.. elk in colorado, whitetail in either TN or TX, hogs in TX, as well as a few upland bird and waterfowl hunts in TX as well... Typically we do at least 1 "exotic" TX hunt every year and have talked about adding turkey to the menu in 2018 also.. If we do end up chasing an exotic this year I'm thinking we'll either go after free range nilgai or I'd really like to give chasing a free range aoudad a try..

Well I am not reading any more of this post. Too many people, having too good a time planning hunting trips

I know what you mean. I'm old but still up for adoption.

It will be a busy year at work... my last year. Unfortunately I have a bunch of unused vacation time that must be used or it will be lost...

two weeks turkey hunting in Oregon
One week in July: Destination to be determined (Scotland for Roe? Texas for Axis? Argentina for blackbuck?))
At least one week in October looking for an Oregon Deer
At least one week in Oregon looking for an elk
At least one week in Wyoming on a deer hunt.

I think that is it. Biggest issue is figuring out the July trip. I really want a roe deer and looking... any suggestions?

Randy
