That is a most impressive Roan, Beautiful Trophy!!!

That's funny, because that buffalo was taken in Usangu in 2006.

Hi Sam. Are one of these your buffalo?

I am somewhat familiar with the Usangu. Do you mind me asking where on the Usangu you hunted and what outfitter you were hunting with.

You were fortunate. That is about the last year hunting was allowed on the Flats.

No I didn't shoot that buffalo, but was in maji moto (sp) camp the evening it was shot. Zahir Mulla was sent the picture to use in his literature folders. If Zahir Mulla has anything to do with Lwafi now, I would stay away. Mulla also use to hunt the Lwafi area I think until 2007.

So if I understand what you are saying, a Spear Safari client didn't shoot that buffalo in the Lwafi area last week. It will be interesting to hear @Spear Safaris Dyason's reply.

I am familiar with maji moto. (Your spelling is good) Did you hunt with Usangu Safaris in 2006? If so, how did your hunt go?

Gentlemen, please, this is how Rumors start. Please be assured, the Mullah family is NOT involved with us or Lwafi.
Look at the picture posted now, you will see my Partner Wayne Grant, Koos de wet our resident Ph, the Client with his face showing and the " Buffalo skull". If it is still not enough compare the wall ou our newly built Lounge for further reference.
Decide for your self then if I am a fraud.

That definitely isn't the same buffalo or person in attachment #172675. Let me make it clear, I don't have issues with spear safaris other than them using pics that aren't from Lwafi area.

Sam, thank you for the note, and I appreciate you pointing this out to me.
The pictures I posted in February is what I assume you are referring to, my internet connection is too slow where I am now, so hard to check.
In any case those pictures were sent to me by Rutta, a local PH that worked in Lwafi for many years. He sent them to me as reference to what was taken in the past when we were scouting the potential of the block. Those pictures were from before our time there, we only started in Lwafi this season, July 2017.
I must add that it will not come as a surprise to me if they are in fact from another block, as we have been lied to so much, by the locals.
In any event I will keep posting recent and first hand pictures as our season progresses.
I hope there is and was no harm done, if in fact I was given those in error.

So all these pics are from Lwafi?

Hi Sam
Yes from last week, we have another hunter coming in next week, will keep you all posted.

One has to be very careful when being a bit careless with the truth.... That direct comment "Yes from last week" appears to be a pretty definite statement meant to make us believe it was taken in your camp at that time.......

Hmmm. Posted pics a week ago, not in February. Was asked about the pic specifically and said it was killed there last week. Posts another pic that claims to prove that the pic was from a hunt there the previous week. Gets called out and then changes his explanation that the pic isn't from this year or even the same area.

Fishy? Yes.

Blatant misrepresentation and fraud? Possibly.

Let it go!

Calling a good person a possible fraud, just isn't cool. A possible communication error, is not grounds for starting a thread full of drama.

This statement is 100% correct, I was in the wrong and I would like to apologize for that. I should in Hindsight not have responded that quickly, I should rather have waited for a better internet connection, checked the actual pictures in the link, and then only responded. I will be traveling to lwafi / Nkamba next week, and will post more upon my return for those that wish to continue receiving updates re the area and our progress.
So far, since our take over, July 2017, we have taken. Leopard, Buffalo, Roan. Passed and or missed, on the following Trophy specimens. Sable, Eland, Reedbuck and Hartebeest.
Kind regards
Ernest

You don't know what you are talking about. Marketing hunting on big government concessions is much harder and different from owned game farms. Lots of different people and miscommunications can occur-it's Africa!
Calling Ernest a fraud won't fly here buddy!

Philip

Ernest,
Thank you for posting update's on your new block. Most all of us here appreciate your posting and love to see new pics. Don't let the joker's ruin your desire to come here and post. I do not know Ernest or Wayne personally and have never met either, but in my limited research they come very highly recommended by a very large group of highly seasoned African hunter's.

Thanks Again
Gale Johnson

First of all I never called anyone a fraud.

Secondly I restated facts as they were presented in this thread.

Finally the outfitter admitted that they were in the wrong. Intentionally or inadvertently they misrepresented the photo as being of an animal taken very recently by their client when in fact it was a photo from long ago of a different hunter in a different location. I would accept the offer that it was inadvertent and hope that they would be more diligent in the future.
