Hello from New Hampshire

Jacob
You live in one of the best states in the country for trying to help you with hunter safety and general outdoorsmanship. Why would you wait to start something your making such big plans over? Moose, bear, whitetail, grouse, duck, turkey, smallgame and big game is abundant where you are at and it is one of the easiest states to find places to hunt. Not sure I would recommend a big five hunt is gonna happen when you don't take advantage of what's in your back yard already, but go for it Africa is special!

Welcome Jacob,
With that kind of wish list, you may want to skip college. Just kidding.
You are just like me at that age. Keep the dream alive. I was almost 50 before I could wedel away at that list. I will be on my 10th safari in 9 days.
What you taking up in college?

It sounds like you're on the right track Jacob. Work hard and have self discipline and you can go far in life. Never let anybody take this dream away from you. Now go slay your dragons.

Welcome to AH, This is a great place to keep your dream alive and eventually make it a reality.

Well I plan on going in as an accounting major. I'm going to Community College first, since i'm moving from NH to Wyoming alone and don't want tens of thousands in student debt and it also gives me more time to work and save money up. It also gives me a chance to begin my hunting career with the various game animals in Wyoming. Once I get my Associate's I can get an entry level job while getting my bachelors at UWY. At that point and with 1-2 yrs of accounting experience I could land a job that pays $55,000+ to start no problem as long as my grades are up to par. Once a year or 2 goes by and I have some good cash saved up I plan on starting my international hunting trips. Africa is way up there, although i've always been in awe at the idea of hunting Asian sheep and goats. I also took a vow to not have kids or a long term relationship until my late 30's, makes sure all the money goes to my endeavors and I have no distractions in the way of my goals.

Welcome to the best forum in the world Jacob!

Welcome to AH!!

Welcome aboard Jacob. Your plans are lofty, keep your goals in sight but at the same time recognize that a little flexibility will be required. Another factor that you will soon discover is that wages out West are considerably lower than those you are familiar with. Good Luck!!

Welcome to AH Jacob! It is a great site, glad to have you here.
