Dislocated my ankle be broke my fibula while helping my grandmother by cutting a tree down. I flew home from NY to TX today with it set, and I'll go in for surgery in a couple days. 100 Days should be enough time to get up and going, but sheesh my luck sucks!

Let the countdown begin! And let the physical therapy begin soon!

Hope you make it out there and you heal up good
I have had to cancell my first trip out as I'm having my right hip replaced when I'm supposed to be flying out

If I have to crawl, I'm going! . For a broken leg it really doesn't hurt much, kinda a dull ache. Hoping it will heal up quick, I know the surgeon and he's really good. Did my other ankle 2 years ago (now I'll have a matched set!)

Good luck with your hip replacement!

Wishing you a speedy recovery and a great trip!

To be on the safe side and if possible you may consider postponing by a month. No matter what I would also recommend you contacting your outfitter and talking to him about your injury and find out what he says based on the hunt that you have planned. Keep us posted.

That sucks, hope it all works out for you to go as scheduled.

Hope you have a speedy recovery! I broke my fibula while down in California back in 1987. That happened in September and I had the doctor take my cast off for our annual late November moose hunt. It was definitely challenging, so be careful. Especially going up and down hills!

Most of the recovery info says 8-12 weeks to be out of the boot and all. It's around 14 weeks till I go so I think I should be ok. Plus I know a really good physical therapist and the surgeon fixed my other ankle 2 years ago and he's really good. But I'll talk with the doc and email Limcroma about it. I'm also realistic in my expectations if my leg is a little weak.

Let your PH know up front. He will plan accordingly, and I am sure that you will have a great hunt. And what could be better motivation to work on that physical therapy!

And the screws will help you make even more friends at TSA while everyone is admiring your rifle and ammunition.

Wow! Good luck with the recovery, Do everything your doctor says, let them know you have a specific goal and time frame, and while I have not had to recover from something like that, my P.H. had been shot in the ankle with a .375 by a client, and I was his first hunt back from recovery. I am reasonably fit, and still had a hard time keeping up with him.

i would check out about potential bloating of your feet and ankles on the flight and see if that could cause an issue
Good luck on the recovery

Surgery is scheduled for August, hunting in late July thankfully. Sorry about the leg but good communication will clear up any issues you may have.

Wow sorry to hear about that. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a great trip, even if it ends up delayed.

Bloody hell!

Hope your leg recovers in time for your hunt mate.

I hope your leg heals!

Make sure you sue grandma....there's a couple extra animals in it for you ;)

Nothing like a safari as a motivator to recover quickly and do your physical therapy!

Best of luck with you recovery... I bet your PH/ outfitter will be able to adjust to how ever much physical exertion you can handle.

Great count down clock!

I'm sure you'll be fully dedicated to your recovery. Be pulling for you bud!

That made me LOL I have an Aflac accident policy that should pay out a couple grand more than my deductible so I figure that should be worth a celebratory animal or two!
