Recently just conducted a leopard hunt here and very unfortunately the client shot at and missed his cat .

There was at least 5 females on bait 3 of them with cubs and 2 good mature males , one of which was missed .. therefore the available Leopard tag for this year .

Available dates between May and end of September.

Kind regards
Wayne Van Den Bergh

I come up with $15362 if you hunt 14 days and have the Parks scout there for the full 14 days.

That's about what I came up with and rounded up a bit. He keeps this up until I have some $$$$ again and he'll be stuck with me for 14 days.

Wow! What a great deal. I am not sure I could get it by the wife to go chase leopards two years in a row but I really want to get Mr Spots. This is sooo tempting.

The great thing about this hunt is that if you or someone wanted to do this with hounds you can for a extra fee of course but combined it is still a pretty good deal . Hounds are an extra $ 5000 plus permit $ 1500 ..

Take a look at other Leopard with hound hunt fees and you will quickly notice the cost difference ...just saying ...

If you decided to book this hunt and use hounds then I can bring the hunt down to 10 days but would recommend pre baiting ...

So folks that is an unbelievable offer . I hope someone can take advantage of this great offer for a super chance at a big Tom....

Just checked with hounds-man and he is available for most of July as we speak .. July is excellent for hunting Leopard , weather is great its our colder month of the year so baits last longer plus I feel cats are more likely to eat more because of the cold weather .

What is the success rate on bait? On males.

Can you tell us a little about the hunting camp where this hunt would take place? Also interested in potential success rate. Is bait/pre baitng an additional cost?

Pre-baiting is normally done over a 3 day period prior to your arrival , pre-baiting involves scouting for Leopard sign and placing baits in strategic places . The cost is $ 200 a day for pre-baiting and $ 150 a bait, normally 4 - 6 baits to start.

The hunting camp is comprised of 3 thatched chalets bathroom on suite .Thatched Dinning room with gas freezers and solar lighting . Hot showers excellent meals and ice cold beers to be had around a camp fire if you not in a blind .

Success rate is a often asked question and that can vary from season to season in any area all depending on what transpires with each individual hunt . I can say that a male will find a bait nearly 100% of the time . Will the male always comply and come to bait whilst you are in the blind ?? That's a 50/50 ... If all things are in place and no one makes any noise or the Leopard doesn't scent you there or if it doesn't kill something in between feeding on the bait or if it doesn't leave the area chasing a female or fearing another male then the chances are better of course . Sounds like alot of ''if's" but actually its typical Leopard hunting ....

Thank you for the info. As a veteran of a previous leopard hunt where I was in a great area with a highly competent PH and we had great activity around us but it just didn't line up during my time there; I totally understand the "what if" scenarios of leopard hunting. I am just looking for where I can take another high percentage shot at a big tom with, hopefully, a more productive outcome this time. This sounds like a really nice deal.

This is a great deal especially this year , plenty females around and looks like a number of them have cubs meaning there are definitely a few males moving around . On the previous hunt there were 2 males that active on bait and on another 2 baits there were 2 different males that walked under the baits but did not feed , of course its possible 1 of those 2 were one of the males that fed on a bait but in my opinion a definite 3 at least were in the area. On the plus side with all the females there are bound to be "visiting" males ....

Folks this hunt has been taken ... Unfortunately not from any AH member .. Hopefully next time . Thank you for your comments and interest .

All the best

Wayne
