What is the normal length of time for mounted plains game to clear customs?

What is the normal length of time for mounted plains game to clear customs and USDA mine have been in DC for 2 weeks now and still know word.

Coppersmith just cleared mine in Chicago in about 7-10 days.
 
Typically takes mine about two weeks in Atl. Also handled by Coppersmith.

My trophies Landed JFK on 3/22 and got this from Coppersmith on 3/28. No word on timeframe of physical inspection, have not requested kill shots, will advise.
 
Sounds like something may be wrong with the paperwork!
 
Tom, I think there is a logical explanation for this. DC is a Redskins town and they must know you are a Packers fan.

A buddy of mine had a paperwork glitch and it took 6 months to clear up and accumulated considerable storage charges. Hope that didn't happen to you.
 
Tom, that sounds like too long and something is wrong somewhere have you asked coppersmith what the issue is?? FYI order of clearance usually USDA 1st then USFWS then lastly customs will sign off and release the crate. When all paper work is good then the freight agent is allowed to release it to you or coppersmith. I do my own importing agent thing and have a few times and for a few good friends.
BUT they are all government type agencies and anyone can be "special" at anytime and it only takes one to mess it all up! Sometimes the crates are opened sometimes not all seems to be unique to the inspector of the day!:(
 
Talked to Coppersmith yesterday they said they are still waiting for it to be released by USDA in DC and then be shipped to Chicago for him to get USFWS and customs to sign off on it. He said he hasn't heard of any problems yet.
 
If they are doing their job they will know if there is a problem.
 
Coppersmith just cleared mine last week after 11 business days in their possession. They do not communicate well, in my opinion.

My shipment cleared customs today after a physical inspection. 4/10. Will be on a truck by mid-week.
 
Good for you. I'm kind of hoping that they would get here before the weekend so I can get them up before Easter to piss off the girlfriends family. LOL
 
I had a shipment that took almost 21 days so I wouldn't get that wound up yet depends on back log they have.
 
Just heard from Coppersmith there was a hold on my shipment. That has cleared now but some how it went to Charlotte instead of Chicago they are trying to find it and get it shipped to chicago
 
Good luck. Mine are being delivered home tomorrow!!!!!
