I have to say that its not just me only but what pisses me (and many others) off is where the hunter is placed/posed way behind the trophy animal.
Now this often happens whether the animal is big or small. And of course many times so as to exaggerate the trophy size..well it doesn't work, well maybe on novices it may.
I like the hunter and the trophy to be on the one same distance from the camera and not in the next state!

Sorry as a photographer, unless you want one hand on the back of the animal and you are leaning forward you will not be on the same plane as the trophy.
The person will have to be a couple feet back of the plane of the horns.
When I have been in a good photo of a trophy I have been about as close to the body as I could be but in no way was I in the same PLANE as the trophy.
If you are sitting several feet back of the animals body then it is a set up using an optically allusion to gain size!

The trophy animal`s head/face with the hunter alongside..on the same plane. Eyes are the important part with hunter and animals eyes on the same plane.

Well here is an example of a trophy picture. Hands holding the head up sitting behind the animal camera low in front of the animal.
This doesn't seem to make the animal seem bigger?

Great examples of how to cheat with a camera.
But none of the legal pictures have the trophy and the person on the same plane?

You got it Jerome I hope the other bloke gets it.

Here are a couple places telling how to get a good trophy picture of your animal.
When I went over for my first hunt the only thing I had for about a year was the pictures that I got from my PH and Hunt provider.
I looked at them a bunch and wished I had even more to study my trophy. I was concerned about getting my trophy back so I did some photoshop of what I had.
Here is an example.

Great Gold Blue Wildebeest.

I am sitting as close as I can to the animal.
My PH took a couple great pictures!

Great examples of people trying to look like they are by the animal
#1 is just a bad photo!
#2 looks good but maybe his hands are not even touching the antlers?
#3 & #4. The animal is just sitting so the hunter is behind the butt so to far back.

#2 is no where near touching the horns.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
