I know you cant really compare,the VX1 with the VX6, just my thoughts.

I used a VX6 1-6 in SA last year & LOVED it! I put a Trijicon 1-6 on my Sako Kodaik 375 & love it as well.

I have Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 on Mauser M03 Africa .375H&H. I suit there well. I selected EE model for 120 mm (4,7 inch) eyewidth.

Like Grumulkin said "How much eye relief you need is much more dependent on the stock configuration than on the cartridge being fired". I fully agree - this very nice gun would go well with normal eyewidth.

Mbisi Safaris proposed Zeiss V8 1.1 - 8. That is most likely excellent choice for .375.

I'm personally planning to move Z6i 1-6 to my, soon to arrive, Blaser D99. As a light weight scope , if would be good for that drilling.
Even if I have clear proposals for you, I have challenges selecting new scope for Mauser (or Blaser if Swaro remaiins on M03). I'm missing good night scope. V8 1-14x50 is on my mind or some more reasonable price 50 mm, but I think how much I compromise driven hunt capabilities. Anyway, should there no need for night hunting, any 1 to 6-8 magnification German or Austria quality scope are lovely. There are, like proposed on this discussion, plenty of other good scopes also.

I just got the Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20 Custom back from Leupold. I wanted a gray one so they did a custom color for me since their gray was only one shade off of black.
I think the color will look a lot better than a black scope on a stainless gun.
Will take it out and get it sighted in as soon as the weather improves.

I've just bought this scope, in a normal black though for the same rifle.

On my CZ550 safari 375 h&h I have two scopes with QD rings. The first one is a 2.5-8x32 nikon monarch 3 nikoplex reticle mounted with Alaska arms QD rings. This scope offers clear optics for the price, is light weight and mounts low. My second scope is a Docter V6 2-12x50 illuminated 4A reticle mounted with Talley QD rings. This is my go to scope for hunting at longer ranges and also to use at twilight. The optics are crystal clear, has a 50mm objective and the advantage of illuminated dot shooting when most game start to venture about is handy. This is one of the best scopes I have used to date.

I have a Leupold 2-7x33 Rifleman on my 375 H&H and it has performed flawlessly as it is a cheaper Leupold but lets be honest you are not making 300 -400 yard shots , which I have done and its not recommended lol.

I do freelance Shooting Event's for Nikon but no sales so I'm going to toss some Nikon idea's for those still interested. Last summer I had one of Nikon's M-300 BLK 1.5-6x42 BDC SuperSub Illuminated Reticle on my Brown Precision .375.
I like to break it out every once in a while for hog control. While this scope was designed for the 300 Blackout it can certainly fulfill other duties. The 30mm tube gives you lots of adjustment and the 42 mm obj makes sure your game doesn't run out of your FOV. The 1.5-6 lets me make sure my older eyes are right on target and the Illuminated Reticle works great for early morning/late evening shots. A new optic Nikon just brought out this past week is the BLACK Series of scopes. The 1-4x24 BLACKFORCE 1000 IL Speedforce. This scope also has a 30mm tube. Both scopes run about 4 inches of eye relief. The next scope I'll be putting on my Brown is a MONARCH 7 ( I don't want to change out the 30mm rings ) 2.5-10x50 Advanced BDC. The Advanced BDC has wind holds etched intot he glass. The BDC will let me use the rifle to all it's capabilities. Should be fun once I get it dialed in.
Guy's, this post isn't a sales pitch it's just giving you things to consider and as with any optic's purchase, look down the tube and buy what you think will work the best for yout particular needs. Feel free to drop me a note with any question's.

I say this an awful lot on this forum, but here goes:

A used Swarovski Z6 Straight Tube 1-6x24 EE with a German #4 reticle. Effective as an optic for shooting off sticks with a .375HH out to at least 345 yards on bushbuck (personally tested). Amazing light gathering. Nothing else comes close.

If you're swimming in cash-o-la there is a Z8 straight tube 1-8x24 that just came out. Illuminated model is MSRP $2388, however.

Have I mentioned how fantastic the 1-6x24 is? Can't remember? Yeah, it's amazing. It's freaking amazing. It is not in the same class with any other scope. If I ever become independently wealthy I will own 100s of this optic. Kahles? Sucks by comparison. Schmidt & Bender (I own)? Sucks by comparison. Leica? Sucks by comparison. Leupold 1.5-5x20? Sucks so bad I'd like to physically choke the design engineer of the leupold WITH a Z6 1-6x24!

So yeah, the Z6 1-6x24 might be a decent scope to look into.

My wife really likes Swarovski- the chandelier in the dining room is the Lotus model and each year we get the Christmas snowflake.

Most of these guys don't know that Swarovski is know for crystals not scopes. LOL

Here's the chandelier. the Christmas snowflakes have been stored but a few items of Swarovski crystal from a curio cabinet are a parrot. polar bear, and an elk. they are of exceptional quality, I'd expect nothing less from their riflescope department.

I was lucky enough to have a trip to the optics factory courtesy of swarovski. Tgey told us that the optics side is a tiny percentage of the whole business.

On my 375H&H-the only true 375- I run a Zeiss Victory 1-6X42. Clear as a bell, tough as nails...well almost, and no electrics to worry about failing and not a crystal in sight.

I put a Leupold 2.5-8 VX3i on my .375 H&H, I love it. I have used it in Missouri during deer season and would have been able to shoot for at least 15 minutes on either side of legal shooting hours easily.

said it many times before , the Leupold 2.5-8x36 is my favorite scope .

but a Zeiss Victory 2,-10x 50 is slim looking also and a tiny little bit better in dark light.
Detachable mount is for me a duty.
But the costs of european scopes getting me headaches.
A Leupold is in the field not worster.
I think you didn't shoot more, with a Zeiss or Swaro or Leica.
But the "must have" is more revealed.

The ability of the Euro scopes -their top line models - to be used longer in the failing light to me does not mean you will use them more in failing light, though the odd person will. The number of times I have done this where the mate with his Leupold I can count on one hand without using all my fingers. The advantage comes in being able to clearly pick up and identify an animal that is in shadow or behind scrub. In my younger days, when my eye sight was better than most this would not be much of a problem. Now, however, I appreciate all the advantage I can get.
