We're looking at hunting in Namibia and after the hunt do some touring which will require crossing borders. Probably spend as much as a week touring - Victoria falls, Etosha national park, Okavango delta in Botswana, etc. What do you do with your rifle while touring? Is there some place it can be left that is safe & secure? My thought is to go after buffalo so I really want to use a gun I'm familiar with instead of renting one from the outfitter. The touring is probably as important as the buffalo for this trip, so if I need to leave it at home and rent one, I'll probably just do PG and leave the buffalo for the next trip. But, I also have to consider that I may only get one trip to Africa.

I did something similar in 2015. I left flew into Jo-berg and then up to Vic Falls and Chobe. Left the rifle at the African Sky guest house. Storage was minimal. I think the Afton House may do the same. If that can be worked into your travel/hunting plans that could work. Conversely talk to your outfitter in Namibia. He may be able to keep them fir a week for you. I'd start by talking to him about it. Bruce

We offer safaris in Namibia as well as book trips to Victoria Falls for our guests. Please feel free to contact me, should you need any help.

All the best with your planning.

Take Care,

On our last trip we arrived in Johannesburg and left our guns in storage at the guest house we overnighted in and flew to Victoria falls. Afterwards we picked them up on our way back through to east cape to hunt.

Edit to add: That was our hunt with Marius with kmg above

week will be pushing it if you want to spend a couple days in each place.....they arent exactly next to each other. how you planning on getting around? if you have a plane on charter for the week then you could do them, but still would be a whistle stop tour. by vehicle not realistic in a week...this from etosha to the falls

There is so much to see and take in in Namibia. A truly wild and beautiful country.
I understand the draw to see such things as Victoria Falls, the Okavango but perhaps consider that you might only be in places for such a short amount of time you may not appreciate them. And full of tourists!
Namibia has so much to offer, wide open spaces, stunning landscapes and the impression of very few tourists and overcrowding because there is so much space.
I would urge you to consider driving around that country and taking the time to see and admire what Namibia has to offer off the beaten track and for very little money.

Enjoyed reading your post again. Believe this is the 3rd time. I am scheduled to hunt w/ Legadema in Sep. Really looking forward to it.
